Adding a widget linking to my youtube channel
-
(I don’t know whether this question has been asked before)
How do I link to my youtube channel in a page widget? I tried to create a “plain text” widget, with my YT user url, to no avail. But, after reading this topic, things got a little more confused to me: which url / user id should I use and how to put it to work?
From my YT account, I got this:
custom URL: http://www.youtube.com/c/PopolMayab
YouTube User ID: OeGxbC_NdvXC-B0D36SwpQ
YouTube Channel ID: UCOeGxbC_NdvXC-B0D36SwpQThe blog I need help with is https://popol-mayab.org
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi –
You can link your YouTube custom URL in to a text widget. Can you add the widget back to the sidebar again so I can take a closer look? Thanks!

You bet, @eenriik. You could add this using the “text” option on the widget — just be sure to click the “Text” tab rather than “Visual” …
<a class="button" href="http://www.youtube.com/c/PopolMayab" >My Youtube Channel</a>
And you could change it so it says something other than “My Youtube Channel” if you’d like.
Or you might also consider adding a custom link to your menu.

@supernovia I just followed your advice and voilá! I’m sometimes rather clumsy when it comes to coding, lol.
The issue has been solved and by following the instructions, I was also able to add an image to such widget and a second one linking to my vimeo profile.
Thank you very much. Warm regards from Guatemala.
