Hey everybody. I’m a super noob to wordpress and I apologize in advance if this is obvious, but I’d just like to know how I could add my bio to the sidebar just underneath where it says “The offcial blog…” I figured out how to add a link to the bio, there, but I’d rather that my picture just appears there with my info. how could i do this? thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This theme doesn’t permit widgets under the first tab. First tab is only for the site title, tag line, menu and social links menu.
You can however add the widgets in the second tab. So you can add text and image widgets. But I know this is not quite what you are after.

would this one work? http://twentyfifteendemo.wordpress.com/
Perfectly :-)
This brand new theme’s widget area is right beneath the site title and description. So you can add a text widget or an image widget.

so I found the perfect one for me and updated my site, but i notice that my posts are submitted in a summarized form. is there a way to make it so they’re published already showing the whole post?

Note add that themes that provide automatic post excerpts on the front page followed by read more links like yours can sometimes be made to display full post through use of the excerpt box below the editor.
If you use a theme that automatically displays front page excerpts then here’s the workaround to compel the display of full posts on the front page. Edit the posts and look below the editor box to locate the excerpt module. You can control the length of the excerpt displayed on the front page and the exact excerpt that is displayed there.
You compose your whole post first and before you publish it you switch to the HTML (Text) editor, copy the code for what you wish to appear, paste it into the Excerpt box below the editor, and publish the post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/excerpts/#creating-excerpts
If you want to create your own excerpt for each post then that will have to be done on every post. -

I was able to copy all the code into the excerpt box, but it totally changes the overall image of the post. is there any other way to just turn off excerpts?

If you are into working with code then having a blog hosted here at WordPress.COM will not make much sense. A self-hosted WordPress site might be right for you. WordPress.org offers free software that you can install on a web server. You can upload and install themes and plugins, run ads, conduct ecommerce and edit the database. Learn about the differences here. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
