Accidentally Activated a New Theme w/the theme's contents
-
Hello. I was reviewing new themes and accidentally (still not sure how) activated a new theme WITH that theme’s content. I’m hoping my own stuff is saved someplace and I can revert it.

Hi there!
With some themes, they give you the option to start with their demo content or to use your existing content.
Choosing the demo content just creates new content on your site – it doesn’t delete or overwrite your previous content. You would need to check your existing Posts or Pages to find your previous homepage content and set that in your site settings.
I hope that clarifies things! Let us know if you have any questions or still have trouble.

Yes my content is there if I click through the menus in my dashboard, but how do I revert the site to what it was. I didn’t want to actually use the template that over-rode my existing one. I have another site on WordPress.org and know where my site backups are there. Does WordPress.com back up my site someplace that I can reload an old back-up?
Thank you.

Hi,
Staff can switch your site back to your original theme. But you will need to manually delete the “demo” content that was created.
Would you like me to make that theme switch?

It looks like you may have this sorted already: I can see you’ve republished the previous version and made it the front page. Do you still need help?
-
No, it’s not sorted at all. I just quickly put some relevant photos on the home page so it wasn’t so confusing if a client accesses my site.
The entire current theme is not what I want. I’m hoping there is a back up saved somewhere that I can revert to how the site was yesterday morning before this happened.
-
To be clear, there is no exact backup from yesterday that can be reverted to.
I can change the site back to the theme you were using. But you’ll have to tidy things back up exactly the way you had them.
Let me know if that works for you or if you’d rather just move forward with what you have been working on.

Hi,
I’ve reverted to your previous themes. Let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with.
