The COVID-19 pandemic has brought entire countries to a halt, but our need to connect with others and find resources and communities online has not gone away — if anything, it’s only become more essential.
Many bloggers and website owners have responded to current events by tweaking or refocusing what they publish. Parents and teachers are sharing resources for keeping kids engaged in learning. Food bloggers post quarantine-friendly recipes. Some business owners are exploring ecommerce options to keep revenue coming at a time where brick-and-mortar stores are struggling. And many use their blogs as an outlet for sharing updates with friends and family they might not see for a while.
What about you? We’d love to hear from our community about the ways you’re responding to this global event. Has your publishing focus changed? Have you found new ways to connect with your audience, or new sources of inspiration? Do you find blogging more challenging?
Leave a comment to let us know — and visit each other’s sites to find inspiration and connect with new people.

I personally sense a mini renaissance to blogging. I hope to see more people coming on here and writing, as they find themselves more at home and less busy!

I am in the North West UK, near Chester. As a photographer i am trying to document my community ( dificult without people) when i go on my daily walk. I know my pictures aren’t groundbreaking but i am using my site almost as an on-line diary, the value of which will become evident in years to come. It helps give my day structure too as my wife is working from home and needs a level of peace and quiet. I also add a few local stats to my page each day, again for historical significance more than any other reason. I hope you all stay safe, well and are soon back to normal.

Great post! Here in Florida streets look empty! I haven’t seen an express way without traffic in my life

I believe that both mental and emotional strength are key at this time, and that if our inner person is stronger, we can support those around us better. I focus on publishing poetry and words of inspiration, for the whole family.

I have been able to start my blog with the spare time I have when I am not working on school work. Finally being able to start a blog which I’ve wanted to do for so long has been the one silver lining of this. My wishes go out to everyone.

Seriously Ben for the first few days.. I was clueless and believe me nothing productive was happening at my end. But somewhere I was trying to get my things in order. Kids were given time which I couldn’t when I was working. Most importantly I gave my blog a fresh start🤗

I published a post on encouraging more people to donate their hair after sharing my first experience and shared an event my friend was organizing where they could get free haircuts. Unfortunately, the event was put off due to a nationwide lockdown so everyone’s just indoors. Blog traffic has been booming, though. Given that everyone is indoors, and I’m glad my readers choose to be more productive since most of them are visiting my post on how to prepare for college entrance exams. Wish I could be as productive as them haha, haven’t been writing anything new for the blog, but I’ve been seeing more people trying their hand at it now that we have so much free time!

Before Covid-19 I was offering in person dog training sessions. Now I’ve added virtual sessions in this new age!

Grip of laziness. It’s been a while we’ve written our stories but we’ve been writing more recently because of this quarantine stuff.

On world poetry day I decided to feature some artists on my blog. I featured one artist a day for a week, to celebrate poetry and storytelling. It helped me have something positive to focus on. And I think my readers enjoyed experiencing all the different perspectives. Right now I am posting some of the art that I made, our of recycled materials, a picture or two a day. I think this will help people see what they can do with their time, hopeful encourage them to craft too. I hope that all you guys are well. Xx feel free to check out my blog.

Estoy siguiendo la disciplina de una publucación diaria. Ahora que hay tiempo es diferente, más profundo, más bonito. Hay que ver el confinamento en positivo, a pesar de la tragedia que nos rodea… 💙❤️

This isolation period is actually having a positive impact on me, I’ve been connecting with friends I’ve not had contact with for quite some time. It’s been fun actually

I am a nurse and a writer, and right now I’m letting my two worlds collaborate. Writing helps me with my thoughts about work, about the virus, and about humanity.

I first started my blog some years ago when I thought it could help me overcoming feelings of loneliness I experienced when I moved by my own to London after my divorce. Somehow, I stopped doing this blogging thing a year ago, for no particular reason. Here, my first post after a long hiatus. This self isolation is bringing back some old monsters… https://longdelayspossible.com/2020/03/31/what-is-going-on/

I actually started up my blog again because of this isolation period! I finally have time to get back into it therefore I’m creating similar content that I always aimed to but tweaking it to fit with current affairs. Many of my ideas, however, aren’t as relevant anymore ie: spring fashion… nobody is buying clothes to stay at home for months!!!! Thankfully, I’m coping well with everything so far, hope everyone else is doing okay! If anybody wants to support eachother’s blogs let me know, I’m new to this x

Hi Ben,
In India, today is 7th day of quarantine, spending time with family. I have a nuclear family and my parents are above 65. They need to be safe as they are more susceptible.. what worries me more- the mental health. I can see my parents worrying about it effecting their health in general.. I try to divert them as much as possible in my end..

I’m simply doing what I’m best at. And that us humour. When theres so much stress and panic around people do need a stress buster now and then. My recent posts are related to the covid but seen through the eyes of a hilarious but fictitious housewife as she goes through the day to day of coping with the lock down and everything. 😊

As challenging and unprecedented these times are they’ve given us freedom to explore new hobbies and interests. Something as simple as the media’s coverage of “your one daily exercise” has got people outdoors running, cycling and hiking – my strava feed has certainly become busier!

I am more conscious about the topics I cover during this period. The need to reflect, and to continue staying positive are key. Positivity is what we need to stay strong and united. It used to be quite easy to jump on writing, but I must admit the overthinking has definitely truncated some ideas.

I am reflecting more than ever. All the sudden change in ways of life made me think so much. How can we leverage the life reflections and learnings to inspire others? How our actions impact others in the long run?

I try to stay as optimistic as possible. Before this really got bad, I had a job working in midtown Manhattan but then I had gotten laid off, as all the closures affected our business.
I was balancing work and home pretty well. Luckily, my site revolves around music and has a pretty decent following overseas, so I’m able to do interviews and features with up and coming bands based in places like Italy and Greece. Getting to ask musicians how they’ve been affected by this virus offers a different perspective and seeing how it affects everybody is really crazy.

Started blogging 7 days ago after I was put on lockdown in my house. It has been such a good opportunity for me to learn, grow, and teach!

In the midst of my wave of emotions the highs and lows of adapting to the “new” unsettling “hopefully temporary” normal, I’ve been practicing gratitude, along with laughing and learning to find joy in something daily. That, along with connecting with others via zoom, FaceTime, text, email and calling. Saying plenty of “I love you’s” and focusing on only what I control. Truly grateful to be shut in with 2 kids that still live at home, my resilient husband who is considered an essential worker and my sweet dog, Chief. Please try to stay healthy and safe everyone! Virtual hugs, much love and prayers to all💗
