“My brain works better when I write here,” wrote Andi Diehn of her blog. Her post, which we highlighted recently, resonated with readers. We then asked what kind of space your WordPress site provides for you — and received a variety of responses. Here are highlights from the discussion.
Why do I blog? It keeps me engaged and widening my horizons. It connects me with new people all the time. It introduces me to new books as well. I share the books with my followers and then it all moves out in ripples like on a pond. This is how I make my mark on the world.
I also view my blog as my mark on the world. It’s my life and legacy recorded. Even my children will read it later and know me far better than they would have without it.
My WordPress blog lets me process and ruminate. It also lets me transform the everyday into creativity.
I keep a poetry blog. Ideas bubble into words, words sprout into ideas and like a pebble in my shoe I can walk on and ignore them for a while but sooner or later they need to come out so I can walk on. This blog is the safest place I could find to gather the pebbles so as not to fling them around and needlessly hurt someone.

Where I live nobody cares about music. It’s just a commodity to them. For me, music is quite literally my lifeblood. I’m never more alive than when I’m jamming to good rock music or nailing an epic riff on my guitar. That’s why my blog, We Sold Our Souls For Rock n’ Roll, exists. To talk about music that I love. Without WordPress I wouldn’t have this space to talk freely about music.
When I first started dental school last year I found that I didn’t have time to write in my blog and then I started questioning why I would use my limited free time to write anyways. I very quickly found that writing is my therapy. Without it I feel that I ruminate and stress over things when I could have just written all my thoughts down and be at least somewhat done with it. Literally taking the stress out of my head and putting it into words has helped me immensely.
It’s so important to allow ourselves to just be with our thoughts — especially in a world as chaotic and crazy as ours.

I write to explore ideas, culture, places, and people. I write to think and to corral my thoughts — to practice mindfulness and focus. Each post is different because there is so much to discover about myself and the world — even still.

I love to write because it relieve stress and helps my anxiety. I have lots of ideas, thoughts running around in my head and I have to put them somewhere. I’m hoping to reach someone out there that I might I can help or just relate too.

I blog because I have so much to say; so many stories to tell: so many experiences to archive. Blogging is for posterity. Perhaps, today, no one cares about what I have to say, but some day, some one might have interest. I don’t want to burden or bore people with oral stories, but written stories and accounts are available on demand.should I every become unable to write or compose, what I have to say is carefully archived. Blogging allows what is in me to come out.

I have a blog because I love to write. The platform keeps me accountable; I’m too lazy to write for myself in a notebook. It’s better for me to send my words off into the depths of the Internet instead, never to be retracted.

I write because I have to. Otherwise, I just might go insane with everything that brews in my mind.

I don’t really do anything on my blog. Mostly I just use it to explore other people’s lives, ideas, dreams and thoughts. But I write and if I had a consistently publishing blog, out would be about an array of things and the why of it all, the why do I write? I write to express myself when I don’t have the courage to speak which is always. I’m in school and being a huge introvert, I’m not able to participate in class, at debates, at MUN, even when I know that I can form more coherent and better constructed thoughts than the person on the podium. Expressing myself through writing mages up for my lack of confidence.

I feature posts that are basically about me and my daily struggles/successes within leadership, weight loss, fatherhood, marriage, etc.. I try to include lessons within each post. I really started my blog as therapy. The meaning became much deeper than that. Now I view my blog as a legacy for my 4 young children. Someday, they will understand who I am and the choices I made while they were growing up. I’m very excited for that!

Writing for me is a powerful tool that being an INtrovert I can use to tell what I feel of my myself about the situations around.whenever I do write be it in my diary or blog or just a key note it has always been the words that I needed to scream but was not able to being introvert.
Hence this gives to me a powerful tool to express making me relax.
I write at my blog:-http://speakingheartssite.wordpress.com/
kindly help people know it and comment on it \.

I write to put thoughts on paper. Well now it’s, digital paper. It’s starting to become a practice that helps me to visibly see where my work projects lead me. Ultimately, I believe that I’ll find my passion through blogging.

I started blogging because as a man sometimes you need to keep all your emotions inside to not look weak. Writing was my Out and a way to express how I felt and my pain in secret. It’s my stress reliever. Hope you guys enjoy my blog.

I started writing when I was in school. I never thought it was anything more than just a phase until I started writing to express what I felt and what I wanted to say out loud but couldn’t. I know now that it wasn’t just a phase and now I am trying to build over it. Hope you guys visit my bog and enjoy reading through.

Many people think blogging is a waste of time, but honestly when I’m blogging I feel accepted. When I write and a stranger comments I feel like I have made a connection with a topic I care about. On my social media not everyone is interested in posts about politics or race but my blog allows me to express myself.

I feel this way too. Although I am not overly concerned about whether someone comments on my posts, I do feel like I can express myself more freely on my blog than on social media.

I blog because I don’t have someone to talk to about the things inside my head. I have always written things down. Now I have a space and hopefully I am building a community where discussions and engagement is key.

I blog because I’m an introvert. I have so much to say and not a lot of ways of saying it. I have things I want to share, thoughts I NEED to get out there. I blog in the hopes of helping others like me find their purpose in this little blue spot in the universe.

I am my most honest, naked self when I write. My blog allows me to release my thoughts, be creative and share without the fear of being judged. I have recently discovered that I write for myself, it does not matter if sometimes my voice is not heard, I hear it.

I’ve always had the desire to write but always thought it was too complicated or that it was reserved for those with special skills! However, after numerous random ramblings on social media & lots of encouragement to put pen to paper I FINALLY did and I must say that it has helped me gather and articulate my thoughts better. And that friends is why my blog is called ‘thinkingoutloud685’. I also love what I read from others as we all have something to give and we never stop learning!😀📰📣💡

I’ve been expressing my thoughts in writing for years now, mostly privately. However, I did belong to a writing group about 10 years ago and we published a mini book which included 2 or 3 of my poems and stories. a counsellor recently advised me to start blogging because she thinks that I have an interesting take on life. I do find writing very satisfying.

I think a blog is a great way to share your own point of view, share your experience or knowledge, or just share your personal passion. But I feel the only real way to really stick to blogging is you have to be passionate about the blog topic your focusing around. If not it will reflect in your writing or you will just stop doing it because there isn’t that passion to do it.
