Reflect: to consider where we’ve been in life, where we are now, and where we’re going.
Reflection is an important part of growing as a person, and we each find the perfect moments in different places, people or things. Often they come along completely unexpectedly, other times we might seek them out in a time of need. For me, those moments most often present themselves in the beauty of a landscape, such as this incredible spot by Loch Leven in Scotland:

Loch Leven, Scotland. Photo courtesy of Flights. Camera. Satisfaction. (All rights reserved.)
Losing myself in thought looking over a still lake, a towering mountain range, or a bustling city is the perfect opportunity to reflect on life. These places remind me of our place in the world, but also demonstrate what we can achieve.
This week, in a post created specifically for this challenge, show us an image that says REFLECTION.
It could be a person who helps you see things clearly, a place you go to collect your thoughts, or an object that reminds you of your achievements. You could also go for something more literal, like a reflection in water. Or something that demonstrates both interpretations of the word, as I’ve done in this shot.

New to The Daily Post? Whether you’re a beginner or a professional, you’re invited to get involved in our Weekly Photo Challenge to help you meet your blogging goals and give you another way to take part in Post a Day / Post a Week. Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.
Here’s how it works:
- Each week, we’ll provide a theme for creative inspiration. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Friday when the next photo theme will be announced.
- To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Weekly Photo Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ tag.
- Follow The Daily Post so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements, and subscribe to our newsletter — we’ll highlight great photos from each month’s most popular challenge.
An image that difficult to beat… great one!

Lovely composition, I don’t see many macro reflection images! They’re normally wide sweeping vistas, nice interpretation of the challenge.

Ben, what a beautiful and calm reflection you caught! I went for peaceful and relaxing, but there were so many choices, as I love to catch reflections. I think there’s a Zen or Japanese feel to this photo. Do you agree?
