This week, show us something careful — a photo taken with care, a person being careful, or a task or detail requiring care.

Some friends and I recently went to get tattoos together. (What says “friendship” more than needles and discomfort?) When you get a tattoo, you’d better be quite sure that the image is just what you want, where you want it. Once it’s on you it’s not going anywhere, so it’s critical to place the stencil of the tattoo oh-so-carefully:

The first placement didn’t feel right to this tattoo-ee, so she wisely asked the artist to re-do it. The second time was the charm, and she’s now the proud bearer of a perfect-for-her green butterfly tattoo, a constant reminder of the beloved grandmother who once gifted her a green butterfly pin.

  1. As soon as the cars had left, the subjects were bagged and pushed inside the room. The knives were brought out and sharpened. The entire floor was wrapped in plastic cellophane to catch the residue — Mother dearest wouldn’t want her white linoleum soiled. Then, the carving began… careful and conspiratorial —
