Ambience has the power to uplift your mood. What have you photographed with exceptional ambience?

Ambience is the atmosphere of one’s surrounding environment. It basically boils down to how one’s surroundings impact the human senses and alter the feelings of an individual. Things like light, temperature, smell, sound, and sometimes taste, all work together to create ambience. The term ambience usually refers to a positive atmosphere that uplifts a person’s mood. As an example, one might say, “Wow, this place has real ambience!”

A tree covered in lights located in Westport, Massachusetts, United States.

Personally, I find that light is one of the most important factors that influence my conscious enjoyment of a place. The warmer the light I see, the more comfortable I tend to be. As with many places around the world, the end of the year marks many holiday celebrations in which small lights are hung as decorations. Many folks spend a great deal of time ensuring places are thoroughly lit, which lends itself to some wonderful ambience! In the photo above, we can see a large tree at Buzzards Bay Brewing in Westport, Massachusetts. The tree’s lights really add to the enjoyment and experience of having a pint and spending time with loved ones (not pictured).

What have you photographed with exceptional ambience? Perhaps you’ve visited a spectacular garden, indulged in a candlelit dinner, experienced a roaring fireplace on a cold night, or enjoyed some laughter with friends in a wonderful place?

We look forward to seeing the photos you share!
