New to The Daily Post? Whether you’re a beginner or a professional, you’re invited to get involved in our Weekly Photo Challenge to help you meet your blogging goals and give you another way to take part in Post a Day / Post a Week. Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.

Here’s how it works:

1. Each week, we’ll provide a theme for creative inspiration. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog anytime before the following Friday when the next photo theme will be announced.

2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Weekly Photo Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use a “postaday2011” or “postaweek2011” tag.

3. Subscribe to The Daily Post so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements. Sign up via the email subscription link in the sidebar or RSS.

  1. Great idea, and one that has come not a moment too soon. I’m challenging multiple blog posts as much as possible when I can but at least a post every day. I blog about justice, advocacy, politics and often I get requests to post action items, asking for folks to sign a petition or come out to a rally. One of the great features that I like about WP are the pages and hierarchy menus allowing me to put the action items in one area.

My favorite feature right now is this post-a-day challenge. The topics are light and favor the human and saner side of life than my usual demand for justice.

Sometimes, a topic is posted that I may not write about but the subject matter may spark a different idea that is light.

Its great to interject the little things in life — like a photograph that depicts abundance or todays topic of “what keeps you up at night.”

Thanks to everyone for the ideas. Cheers. Val/The GroundHog

  2. I am really enjoying this challenge. I’m a very amateur photographer but delight in taking a “good” picture.

Some of the other pics for the themes must be wonderful to see. Is there any list of the people taking the photo challenge so I can go and look at their work?

  4. Oh, I just realized, thanks to Stacey barb19, that I can just go down this list and click on folks’ links to see their pics. I have looked at quite a few and they are marvelous. People are so creative!

I’m actually quite proud of the one I took for Refuge, since it is the first time I used the digital camera my kids got me for my birthday…downloaded the chip and everything. The pic itself is quite personal and heartfelt 🙂

  5. This is a really random off topic comment, but I saw a great post & thought I might share in case anyone needs inspiration. The post was “When I log onto Facebook I…” and it can be broadened to “When I turn on my computer I…” That kind of thing! Hope everyone is having fun with the post a day!

  6. wait, if we post images at least once a week in addition to whatever other pics we may add for other blog entries, won’t we use up our “free” space? hmmm, pretty smart of wordpress…
