Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.
Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

It’s been a busy blogging week for me – I’ve published 4 posts – feel free to take a look. My latest one pays homage to my Dad who tried to rescue the pilot of a crashed plane in 1950. I really couldn’t think of a decent title – I’m sure one will eventually come to me and then I’ll change it! Yesterday I didn’t want to reference my Dad in the title. Today I do!
I look forward to catching up with all your posts 🙂

I’m trying to write more personal book posts, and I’m hoping that this format is less “listicle” format- is this an enjoyable way to read about book recommendations? https://anhistorianabouttown.com/2018/05/06/a-book-and-a-beverage-may-2018/

Hello bloggers!
I am trying to get more fiction up. I just wrote a little beginning inspired by a newspaper article I read:
I would very much appreciate your feedback: Do you like reading fiction on blogs? Would you rather see the whole story at once or read it piece by piece?
Thanks!

Hi, Y’all! I’m back! Been almost a month to the day since I last posted. My life is still hectic, but I decided to put out this short but salient modern parable: http://domesticminister.com/2018/05/07/get-connected-stay-connected/
I’m trying something new with it: I’m not writing out a lengthy explanation but leaving you to do the thinking/meditating on it. (If you need me to explain something about the blog’s content, ask me in the blog’s comment section.)
I tagged this as “Gardening with God.” I’m thinking this may be a good name for a whole series of life-lessons I’ve received when I’m doing yard work or taking care of my house plant. The underlying Scripture for this theme is the parable Jesus told about the soil types and other agricultural parables. What do you think? Do you have another idea of what I could call this & categorize this group? (If you’ve got an idea for me about this technical aspect, please comment here.) TIA!

Hey everyone. I did a post in response to Richard Brody’s review of Infinity War for the New Yorker. I explained the artistic precedence for the MCU and why the major complaints of the review are actually intrinsic parts of how it was made. https://blogs.lt.vt.edu/valeriemclean1919/2018/05/03/the-epic-the-serial-and-avengers-infinity-war/

I love the title–so catchy! And such a great and relevant topic…with all the photo sharing platforms, so many people feel pressured to “flash it” when they really should be directing their funds into emergency savings, retirement, or a “f*ck off fund” to be used to gracefully exit terrible job, relationships, etc. Money is power, but flashing it only *projects* the image of power. Great post! Thanks for sharing, Brendan!
