Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

Really love the way that you bring out your messages, short and simple. One more thing that I like about your blog is that you feature new bloggers despite being a new blogger, interesting. Hope to see more from you. Have hope, write on!

Really love the way that you write, it is really captivating and really intriguing. I’m wondering… who is ‘you’. Haha. A little crush?

Nonetheless, I really love how you pen down your words with your feelings wrapped around them. Wonderful delivery. Hope to see more from you. Have hope, write on!

    1. Hello! Juliet!

Welcome to the world of blogging! Really inspired to see new bloggers coming around, creating their own content, their opinions for the world to see. Great effort. Posting twice a week would not take a great toll on your life (I post daily, so i see no problems.) It is, and has always been a priority thing. Take me as an example, I taking a pre-university course (similar to A-levels), my finals is due next week, but I still pick out some time to blog and to communicate with bloggers because some of my priorities are here. So… it really depends on you, because you own your blog, not your readers nor other people. Thank you so much for creating your own blog, really inspiring. Hope to see more from you. Have hope, write on!

    1. Wow! Wonderful blog, your writings do hit home, it is as if you are directly talking/chatting to your readers. Your blog is a little quirky and still in the nascent stage. Hopefully you can add an ‘about’ page on your blog, readers do love to read something more about ‘you’. Thank you for sharing. Hope to see more from you. Have hope, write on!

    1. Very nice. I really love the layout and design of your blog, minimalistic and eye-catching. The pictures that you have used for your blog suits the direction of your blog. I was wondering where is the like button on your posts… Nonetheless, great job in your blog. A little sidenote, for every posts, please keep your tags and categories to less than 15 or else wordpress will list your post as spam. Hope to see more from you. Have hope, write on!

    1. I agree! Weekly Photo challenges really suit your blog, I think. I guess you also did a pretty good post about the previous daily prompt “Laughter”!

  3. I am trying to get accepted for Google AdSense, but they keep rejecting me. The reasons they gave seems to be that my content doesn’t have value. Does anybody have any suggestions about how I could improve my chances of getting accepted for Google AdSense? Here is my blog: https://quadlifeblog.com/

    1. I love your thoughts about how life should be when it comes to people’s perspective about careers. I’m still 21 and I guess young, but I still think that all my other classmates from the university are having such nice jobs compared to mine, and that kind of makes me feel inferior to them. However, your blog post is really an eye opener! I’m glad I read it!

      1. Oh thanks so much! This is actually what I really wanted to say to my friend when he was talking about feeling down about career stuff but sometimes I find it hard to articulate those kinds of thoughts so I wrote it down! Anyway, I’m glad you enjoyed it! 21 is so young, don’t ever feel inferior, there is so much of life to be enjoyed, work is just one part of it!!!! 🙂 Thanks for taking the time to read and comment! 🙂

  4. I just wrote a post about my experience during a 12-week fitness program. I haven’t written a long post in a while so I wondered if there’s anything I can improve on, e.g. how to capture readers’ attention, break in paragraphs, ending the post in an impactful way etc. Any constructive feedback will be greatly appreciated!

  5. Good evening, bloggers! I just started a new blog after a long hiatus and I feel like wanting to improve my writing skills more and more after reading a few blog posts from my friend’s tumblr blog. Hope you guys can read my entry for the daily prompt “Laughter”!

Here’s the link to my post:
    solemnlife.wordpress.com/2018/05/10/daily-prompt-laughter/

While you’re at it, try to see if you like the feel of the blog. Do you think I should put a header? Some widgets? Or do you think it’s much simpler with my blog being just the way it is?

I’d really appreciate it if I’ll get some pretty neat feedback and tips on how to get followers for my new blog, too! 😀

  6. Dom’s Everest attempt is getting ever closer as he finishes his second rotation:
“Words can not explain how desperately slow you move near 7000m, everything is just a huge task let alone climbing the icewall, which is near vertical in places. The last 10-20m is vertical and with so little oxygen it is a real test of character. To give an example just chatting at this altitude is difficult, let alone climbing. The temperature is cold, it must be -10c, add the wind chill and it’s anyone’s guess.”
