Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.
Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

There’s a lot going on at the Veteran’s Poetry Circle. Here is the latest poem:
Also of note is the fact that we are going to have a poetry reading on June the 1st at the Vet’s Hall in Santa Cruz. You can read about that on the site as well. One of our members is having a photography exhibit that night and we have been invited to read. I think this then qualifies it as a “Multimedia Event.” Spoken word coupled with written word, coupled with photography. I’m excited about it.
Check us out by following the link above.

I am fairly new to blogging and writing publicly. I could use some feedback on my writing style. I am looking to see if my articles seem well put together or if I come off looking too amateur. Also, if I cover the topic at hand well enough or am too wordy; too much or not enough? Thanks for any and all feedback. I already jumped on a suggestion from First Friday to make paragraphs.

Your headline typeface should not be used in all caps, Very hard to read. If it only available in all caps, then you should change it. Otherwise, looks good!

I always Preview before posting to try and route out any final typos.
I read and reread over again to ensure there are no (or very few errors).
I keep the default font for my theme – it’s default for a reason as far as I’m concerned. I try to keep all photos to a similar size for consistency.
Does this help? 🙂

Hey! I checked out you blog, these would be my personal suggestions:
Your navigation bar appears at the bottom of your page, I always prefer them it the top so if someone visits your page and wants to see your “about” page they can click straight onto it.
You’ve got lots of posts which is great but on your home page there are no images so it appears a little uninviting to me personally, you could add a featured image to each post or an image widget maybe to your home page? Or maybe even a sidebar with some widgets?
I could be wrong here so I’m so sorry if i am! However on your “about” page I’d maybe write a little more & also you state that you own your blog which with a “wordpress.com” you don’t actually own your domain so I’m not sure where you stand there.
I love your post titles and your writing style is really interesting too! I hope my feedback helps!

Firstly, I have a home button the top of my page which when clicked guides you to the about and contact page.
Secondly, thanks a lot for the suggestions..

This time I’ve tried writing an article on my blog which had featured only poems till now. I wrote it because it was something I could not help but share with the world, and I need all of your help to make this story heard far and wide and take a baby step towards a society free of sexual abuse.
I would also appreciate feedback and suggestions for my writing skills as this is my first article
