Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  2. Hello! HELLO! Hello hello hello! It’s been a while. I got a job and it’s been kicking my ass so bad that at the end of the day all I want to do is cheerfully fling my laptop out the window. Also I’ve been feeling unusually blue for about a week and a half now. I haven’t yet determined whether or not that’s related to the job.

Anyway! I wrote a new post today! Give it a read!

Or not, it’s Monday and there are a lot of us, so don’t stretch yourself too thin. Mind yourself! See you here same time next week?

  3. I just did a review for the book ‘Seriously…I’m Kidding’ by Ellen DeGeneres! Check it out and let me know if you’ve already read it or are planning to do so!

Also, on my blog, you’ll find my articles, poems, collaborations, bookish stuff, and much more!

I am soon going to reach 1k on my blog! So thanks to all those who follow! This time, I’d be doing something different to celebrate!

    1. Yes! Yes! Yes! Gender is a social construct, a lens through which we are socialized to perceive and engage with the world. I love reading about others who also question the normative ideological framework!

    2. Wow! Finally someone has put it into words. Just because we are of a particular gender, we are expected to do certain stuff without questioning. This society is absurd.
Happy blogging! I would love for you to visit my blog too 🙂

      1. Your site looks great but seems to be geared at a readership that is already quite well educated about marine biology. I read the post about red algae as I like plants, but truthfully didn’t understand quite a few of the words. If you have a section aimed more at beginners or people who love the sea and want to know a little more, please share a link to that bit. If not, perhaps that might be something to add for the future.

Having said that, there is nothing wrong in writing for specialists to add to the knowledge already out there or gather it together in one place.

      2. Thank you! I had a glossary but I never put anything in it and since I already have about 20 posts it would take quite a while to put all hard vocab in there.
If you want I can put the glossary back in?

        🙂

      3. It’s not too difficult to look up words online these days, but a glossary would be an interesting feature. It really depends who your site is targeted at. If your audience already knows those words, they won’t need a glossary.

  4. Hey guys!

Glad to be back here after so long! (For me, it’s been more than a couple months.)

So here I am with a short story that I hope you will enjoy reading. The main genre are Angst and Romance. Although my blog, The Pensieve covers a lot more than just that.

For everyone has a story to tell…

I hope you find it a good read.

And of course I’ll be eagerly waiting for feedback. Be it in any form. And I’m certainly looking forward to checking out your blogs!

    Happy swimming everyone! 🙂

And yes, I am a Harry potter fan, although the reason why I chose to name my blog ‘The Pensieve’ is a little different. 😅.

I would love to check out your poem. Coming soon! 😉

Your poetry skills are great… You really brought out both truth and emotion. I have poems on my blog and two of them revolve around the same topic. They are named “Murder” and “Sinner”. I would love for you to read them.
      Keep it up!
