Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.
Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

Hello! HELLO! Hello hello hello! It’s been a while. I got a job and it’s been kicking my ass so bad that at the end of the day all I want to do is cheerfully fling my laptop out the window. Also I’ve been feeling unusually blue for about a week and a half now. I haven’t yet determined whether or not that’s related to the job.
Anyway! I wrote a new post today! Give it a read!

Or not, it’s Monday and there are a lot of us, so don’t stretch yourself too thin. Mind yourself! See you here same time next week?

“Gender is the poetry each of us makes out of the language we are taught”.
-Leslie Feinberg
Right from the cloths to the partners we choose, everything is influenced by what gender identity we subscribe to. The culture and society plays a significant role in helping us decide the stints that we would play.
What if one subscribes to more than one shade of a gender? What if the gender identity does not go hand in hand with the roles assigned to it?
An individual is like an amateur artist who scribbles and doodles with various colors on the canvas of his identity. It remains open for the critique what aspect of gender the colors symbolizes but for the artist- it remains but a personal expression of his inner psyche!
Lets meet this inner artist of ours and see what expression it has in store for us!
Always open for your feedback!
Happy intellecting!❤🍻

Yes! Yes! Yes! Gender is a social construct, a lens through which we are socialized to perceive and engage with the world. I love reading about others who also question the normative ideological framework!

Wow! Finally someone has put it into words. Just because we are of a particular gender, we are expected to do certain stuff without questioning. This society is absurd.
Happy blogging! I would love for you to visit my blog too 🙂

https://bluemonkeyspeaks.wordpress.com/2018/04/09/drooling-minds-fictions-we-are-made-to-believe-about-emotions/
“..It is the experience of loving and being loved that most closely predicts how we react to the hardships of life; human attachments are the ultimate source of resilience.”
-Jonah Lehrer
The open expression of the most intimate emotions is what forms the base of all relationships. An individual carries within his heart a repetition of an early childhood pattern of attachment which he imbibes from his relationship with his parents in particular.
These patterns of articulation, reservation or over expression marks an interesting field to study of how an adult carries within his heart a hurt child from his past experiences.
Let us peep into ourselves and see what styles are our inner architecture based on. And what is the true motivation behind our arrangement of expression.
Do give your feedback!
Happy intellecting!🍻❤

Your site looks great but seems to be geared at a readership that is already quite well educated about marine biology. I read the post about red algae as I like plants, but truthfully didn’t understand quite a few of the words. If you have a section aimed more at beginners or people who love the sea and want to know a little more, please share a link to that bit. If not, perhaps that might be something to add for the future.
Having said that, there is nothing wrong in writing for specialists to add to the knowledge already out there or gather it together in one place.

Thank you! I had a glossary but I never put anything in it and since I already have about 20 posts it would take quite a while to put all hard vocab in there.
If you want I can put the glossary back in?
🙂
LikeLiked by 2 people
It’s not too difficult to look up words online these days, but a glossary would be an interesting feature. It really depends who your site is targeted at. If your audience already knows those words, they won’t need a glossary.
LikeLike
Its mostly targeted to people with an instrest in marine biology so maybe a glossary should be added.

Glad to be back here after so long! (For me, it’s been more than a couple months.)
So here I am with a short story that I hope you will enjoy reading. The main genre are Angst and Romance. Although my blog, The Pensieve covers a lot more than just that.

Hi everyone,
Last week I wrote a poem to express my anguish about the sexual attitudes in our country (india) and how it has encouraged a series of rapes happening on a daily basis, mostly of underage girls.
What do you guys think on how we can stop this? Please let me know what you think.
