Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. I started a blog to write about learning photography as a hobby. It is mostly focused on Texas as that is where I live and it is a long, long drive to another state.

I appreciate any critiques or discussion about photography.
If the layout of my website or theme needs help, I would love to hear about that too.

I finally reached the milestone of 800+ supporters! I recently published a post celebrating it. As celebration, I’ve asked my readers to ask me questions they would like me to answer! If I get enough questions, I’ll do a Q&A (Question And Answer) post so that other bloggers can know know me better! If you, too, have any questions make sure to leave them in the comments section on my post!

  4. I’d like to invite everyone to come by and check out a photography piece, “Scampers in Black & White.” I took this photo on a warm spring day a year ago. My cat Scampers was lounging on some clothes beneath an open window. The sun’s rays came through, and while playing around with filters the black and white showcased the warmth well. As the weather’s warming, I thought of no better time to share. Comments and feedback are always welcome, and please leave them in the comments section of the post page, and click the like button on the post page. If you like what you see, feel free to browse around, and follow along so you don’t miss anything as I post several times a week. Thanks in advance.

  6. Hi all! So, this week I wrote on a theme that I love (and honestly, it’s such an enjoyable theme to dwell on): friendship. In particular, I was considering how valuable it has been to have different types of friends in my life. I’d love to hear your thoughts! Thanks!

  7. Hello!

I write a blog about marine life and my personal encounters with them. This past week, I wrote about stingray barbs and how the ancient Mayans actually used them for rituals. You can check it out at

I’m also always looking for suggestions for new posts, so I wanted to know what people wonder about the ocean. Is there a question you’ve always had or an animal you’ve wanted to learn more about?

    Cheers,

    Simona

  9. Hi everyone!

I’ve got two new posts up on the blog this week.

The first one is about cotton candy grapes – are they really worth the hype?

The second piece is a long read, where I discuss instagram famous pets – and the potential exploitation and issues surrounding this explosive trend: https://thelanguageofl.wordpress.com/2018/03/14/insta-pets-the-unexpected-cash-cows-of-instagram/

I would love to hear your thoughts on these current trends, and I look forward to discovering some of your work too! 🙂

  10. Hello swimmers!
I’m just about to dive into the water; hope it’s not too frigid today.
I’d love it if you’d swim on over to my blog for a bit – writings, musings, photos, centered around words. My most recent post is on the subject of subconscious:

    1. For me your post was not goofy. It seemed quirky; however, I’m a fan of quirky. I suspect I fit into the overall nerd category. My symptoms include: total disinterest in sports or entertainment personalities; preference for non-fiction books, tendency to analyze everything. https://gracelead.co

    1. You clearly really know your game! I do not know much about hockey, but the way you wrote about it was interesting and informative. I cannot believe there are rules that are not strictly laid down. It seems someone should re-evaluate that and get it sorted! You also have a great way of writing, with a lovely and style-appropriate way of describing things. Wonderful stuff!
