Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. Wow the amount of support from the community pool was unexpected and I’ve really enjoyed checking out some sites that I otherwise wouldn’t have stumbled upon.

Check out my most recent post if you’d like – I really appreciate dry humor and honesty so be prepared : )

  2. Hey everyone, I’ve recently published a new post “The footsteps” and I wrote it after being inspired by a prompt. I’d like to admit I’m not amazing when it comes to writing stories like these. But well, I tried. And I’d love to hear your opinions about it.

      1. Thank you. I’m glad you like it 🙂
And i just read your story and it is really intriguing and different. I really liked it. Though I couldn’t spot the like button or the comments section on your post

      2. Thanks, I’m glad you like it too 😁
The theme complicates it a bit. Just under the title of the post you can see “leave a comment”, and clicking there you can comment, like and share the post.

  4. Delighted to share my new post, after such a long break. I must say I have been trying to publish this one since weeks, haven’t been able to.
It’s a Rajma (Kidney Beans) Curry Recipe – an Indian main course dish.
Please have a look at it and also check out other posts on the blog.
Eagerly waiting for your feedback and comments 🙂

  5. Hey everybody!

I blog about fake news, pseudoscience and conspiracy theories that propagate online and through social media.

I just published the first instalment of my “The War Against Fake News and Pseudoscience on YouTube,” series; check it out if you’re interested in YouTube drama:

  6. Hi guys! This week, I wrote about how big of a role acceptance plays in our lives.
Please give it a read and let me know what you think.
I’ll be more than happy to return the favour, leave the links of your posts in the comments 🙂

    1. Hi! I really liked your post. The length is OK -after all, it depends on how much do you have to say, and how do you want to convey it.
I didn’t miss a picture. And I also like your writing style. You seem like an interesting person. It depends on each one of us, but being fat doesn’t mean ugly and being thin doesn’t mean healthy – it’s something worth remembering but that lots of people forget, unfortunately. Congrats on having an increasing number of Good Body Days! You are doing amazing 😀

    2. I think it actually is a lot stronger without a photo because we can just judge the book based on it’s cover, so to speak. I like this blog. I look forward to reading more.

  7. Hi there! My blog is about science, but I recently posted a short story that has nothing to do with it. You can read it here:
    https://reverscience.wordpress.com/photograph
Which can be enjoyed by most people, I think. Let me know if you like it 🙂
I’m also about to start a post series about pain (how we feel it, interesting facts…), so comment what you would like to read next! Even if it’s not about pain which can be a bit of a weird topic. As you can see if you visit my blog, I talk a bit about all science branches: chemistry, physics, biology…
    All feedback is welcome!

    1. Hi Olivia, I notice that to reply to your posts you have to fill in your name, email address etc. A tip I was given when I started out was that this will have an impact on your stats as not all bloggers will be inclined to complete these sections. Totally up to you, of course, just wanted to check you are aware of the impact.

    1. You have a wonderful goal for your blog as well as some beautiful photographs and even music. That’s quite impressive! The only notes I have are to edit your blog so there’s only one Home link and try out different formats to see what can give your readers posts to choose from without overwhelming them with many at once.
      Good luck!

    1. This link takes logged-in users to their own stats page, so you’ll need a new link. Best of luck with your blog!

    1. The food looks delicious! However, for the blog, I’d focus on making your posts as clear and easy to read as possible, so you’ll want to keep an eye on grammar and spelling. Also, to follow up with a comment on the Maggie dish, if it’s something that’d likely be unfamiliar to many readers, you might want to describe what it is in the post itself first.
Good luck with your food-friendly blog!

    1. You have beautiful children! I’m glad everyone worked out well despite the chaos. Kids can be a handful, but when it’s all said and done, it’s well worth it. Thank you for sharing your story.

    1. It’s an incredible and brave thing to put your story out there for all to see. I can’t imagine how it must’ve felt, having to carry about your day as if nothing happened. I want you to know, you’re stronger than he could ever hope to be, not only for surviving but putting yourself out there to be vulnerable and to heal. I wish you nothing but the best! If you need to talk or have a distraction, my inbox is always open!
