Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

Note: Starting this week, each Community Pool post will be open for two days. Comments will then be closed until we publish the next Community Pool. Enjoy the swim!

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. I’d like to invite everyone to come by and check out a rare album review, “311 – 311 (1995) Review #311Day2018.” I love 311, and the self-titled third release is more than my favorite album by them. It’s one of my favorite albums ever, like, all-time favorite. Come by and check it out, and after the review give it a listen. It’s never too late to celebrate. Comments and feedback are always welcome, and please leave them in the comments section of the post page, and click the like button on the post page. If you like what you see, feel free to browse around, and follow along so you don’t miss anything as I post several times a week. Thanks in advance.

    1. It’s a curious story and I’m intrigued by your blog. Couldn’t help but follow 🙂
As a suggestion, maybe you could write more about what’s the purpose of the blog in your about page.

  2. I’d like to invite everyone to come by and check out my poem, “Same Old Love Song.” I wrote this poem within the last few weeks. Yeah, it’s new. I’m not sure what I’m trying to say, if anything at all. There’s probably things to take away from the poem, but I’m sure it applies to all of us, myself included. Comments and feedback are always welcome, and please leave them in the comments section of the post page, and click the like button on the post page. 1. Didn’t notice the button at first… although I’m quite sleepy today and the button is a big bright red thing, so probably my own fault. It looks good with the layout of the page.

    1. I was so excited to see someone else writing about biology and science! 😀 I write about marine life and my encounters with them. I get into a little bit of science so I might even link to your posts if people are curious about the finer details of enzymes or whatever else you might write about.

      1. Wow, the same could be said of you! Feel free to link posts and hopefully I will get some inspiration from your posts too! I really like your writing style and the topic of marine life can give a lot of ideas.

  3. I’d like to invite everyone to come by and check out a photography piece, “Full Moon Fever March 2018.” March brought a full moon with it, and I captured a few images after I arrived home from work. Clouds were moving back and forth, reminding me of the Pink Floyd album Obscured by Clouds. It was a trippy sight, and a very cool one to experience. I like this one the best, and hope you’ll like it too. Comments and feedback are always welcome, and please leave them in the comments section of the post page, and click the like button on the post page. 1. The best way to build a following is to interact with other bloggers/people on a personal and genuine level! I love the look of your blog, very clean and simple to navigate.

    2. Hey, in terms of engaging your audience and getting more followers, I’d recommend getting yourself out there and promoting your blog. You’ve already taken a good first step by participating in this community pool, but to get the most out of it it’s best to give feedback to other bloggers and leave comments. You never know you may find your new favourite blogger or like-minded bloggers which will really motivate and inspire you.

I have a whole blog post on this topic which I’ll link here:

  4. Hello all, i have decided to bit the bullet and join in this world of blogging , i have done a few posts of late, but struggling with how to get more traffic. I am aware my posts might not be the best , but hopefully over time that will change. The blog itself is just my trials as a struggling artist and pitfalls i come across that may help others to avoid. Any comments would be gratefully received. Many thanks in advance.

  5. Hey fellow bloggers! I hope you’ve all had a good start into the new week 🙂
I changed the theme and stlye of my blog and moved to self-hosted on the weekend. Would be amazing if you could give me some feedback on my new theme. What would you do differently, do you have any technical issues opening the menu or sites or do you get a SSL error? I am very helpful for any feedback and would also give you feedback in return.
Here is the link to my site (the story of how I got to pet a wild crocodile in Bangladesh):

      1. That was just an exaggerated example, I do not believe that someone is seeking to clone me. haha
Just a side note; medical professionals are required by law too keep patient information private.
