Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

Note: Starting this week, each Community Pool post will be open for two days. Comments will then be closed until we publish the next Community Pool. Enjoy the swim!

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

    1. This was emotional. Although a great fan of poetry I have never been able to express myself through poetry. But you, my friend, have done a fantastic job here. Do come up with more of such stuff.

  1. Hello swimmers, how’s the pool today? I need to know before I jump right in. 😀
Although here is one thing am sure of, this is a pool of knowledge, so it can’t be anything less than impressive.

So my latest post is about VISION, and I will like you amazing minds to go through it and tell me what you think. I’ll watch out for your comments, corrections and emphasis. Thanks. Here is the link.👇

  2. Hello bloggers! Happy Monday to all.

I write poetry and I try to express my suppressed emotions through writing instead of saying things out. I am pretty sure most of you can relate to this.

Anyway, I posted a reverse poem recently and it’s dedicated to all those people who think mental health is a joke and to all those people who are suffering and not getting any support.
    This is the link- https://uncertaintyweb.wordpress.com/2018/03/10/silent-struggle/

I hope you’d all like it and if you too write poetry or something similar, do let me know. Just share the link down below. I would love to check it out.

    Love to all ❤️

      1. Change is definitely something we run away from so forming new habits is tough. Your post is quite informative and I would love to give these tips a try.

  3. Hi everyone!
Please give me some feedback on my blog 🙂 I have been working so hard these past two months to produce a blog that is worth following. And if you are looking to collaborate with a fellow blogger, I’m looking to guest post on other peoples’ blogs!
My blog is about teaching the piano, but I have since dived away from that. I am more interested in creating a personable blog, so I have made it completely more personalized.
    Best wishes ❤

  4. I’ve got a technical issue…
How do you publish a post to a certain page of your blog? I’ve attempted, but it ends up changing the entire page to only that post.
    Anyone got some answers?

    1. Generally, all posts are published to your blog or posts page — this is usually your site’s homepage, where visitors see a stream of your posts in reverse-chronological order, from newest to oldest. You could also create category pages — pages where all posts that share a category you’ve assigned them are collected as well. If that sounds like what you’re after, you can read more about how to create these here:

  5. Hello all!
I would love to have some feedback on my blog! I’ve had it for about one month-ish, and I’m trying to receive some feedback on it. I would really appreciate if you could also check out the contact page and leave a suggestion or two in the form!
Also, just as a quick summary of my blog, I mainly talk about crocheting and, of course, Christianity! I’m not trying to make anyone feel uncomfortable from it; just expressing what I believe.
    Thanks!

    1. That’s an interesting combo. I read your Meandering post. I don’t currently crochet; however, I do use yarn. I tend to meander through the yarn aisle and look for bargains in colors and textures that appeal to me. I also enjoyed your Uncompromising post. https://gracelead.co

    1. Not my field of interest but I like how you write about it (and the images are good too). It is concise and somewhat relatable. As feedback, maybe try to use some longer sentences from time to time, but that’s all I can think of.

    1. I really like those small town idiosyncrasies as well. It makes it fun when you’re meeting people to have knowledge of the little out-of-the-way place they may be from, and to have something concrete to say about the place!

  6. Hi everyone!
My (young) blog is related to science with things that I find interesting to share. The post type (book reviews, everyday facts explained, more complex science topics…) and subject(physics, biology…) are varied. Yesterday I started a Weekly Quote series and maybe in the future I will talk a little more about university life and no-science art or writings.
All feedback is, of course, welcome. Here’s the link, go on to read and hope you enjoy it!

  7. Hey,
I have begun writing short stories/prose recently for fun. Check it out!
    https://illuminol.wordpress.com/

I have written a lot of poems, which eventually got published (the book’s name is “Golden Despair”) and I want to try my hand at writing so if you can provide me with any feedback it would be great!

  8. Hello you wonderful people!
The WordPress Community has been so receptive and supportive so far and that keeps me motivated to write more and more.

This is my latest post on how Indian relatives and neighbours annoy us when we are pursuing Medicine.
Of course, it’s all in a light spirit and well… See if you enjoy it 🙂

  9. Hi everyone. I have been blogging for a while now (well, having ups and downs and been in and out of writer’s block), but recently I moved to my self-hosted page here: https://xhorxhinabami.com/
Please check it out and if you like my writing subscribe. I would appreciate some feedback too. Thank you 🙂 Lot’s of love ❤

    1. I enjoyed your post. It reminded me of the customer service focus the Total Quality Management system emphasized. For “thoughtless activity” I think you meant “thoughtful activity.” Thoughtless means inconsiderate, not thinking through how something would affect others. https://gracelead.co
