Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.
Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

Hey fellas!
So I’m back (yet again…) With an experiment. I’ve tried writing a poem for the first time in my whole life and it’s based on a post which I had written in a different language many months ago.
I hope you like it. Feedback welcome as always. Just don’t be too harsh on this newbie poet. 😅 Oh and I’m excited to return the favour of course.
About the poem…
It narrates an angsty tale of a failed first love of a young boy, ending with a hope of a silver lining.

Your review is very engaging and exciting. I already wanted to read this book, but I think after this it has jumped up the ranks on my list.
I would recommend revising some punctuation. Maybe think about limiting the use of exclamation marks and rethinking where you place some commas.
Mainly though, I would strongly suggest changing the font of your titles. Although it suits the theme and I can see why you chose it, it is very difficult to read. I have actually visited your blog a few times, but this is the first time I think have read a post – the heading font always puts me off and I give up because it is distracting. I am definitely glad I kept reading though this time, because you have some quality content there in the body.
Another small suggestions is perhaps choosing a higher quality header image – when blown up it is a little blurry and pixelated – but I am being picky now.
I hope this helps!

Hi!
Thank you so much for taking the time to review my blog!
Hehe yes, I do use the exclamation marks, frequently. While writing I get a bit too excited and feel like adding the marks just to get that enthusiasm out!😂
I guess the font makes it a bit difficult when the letters are all in capital…I don’t know if I can change the font without changing the theme.
And yes, I have thought about the header image, too. It does get a bit blurry when the site is viewed on computer but, just to make it a bit more mobile-friendly (and also have a nice header), I did not change it. I might change it now that you’ve pointed it out!
Thanks a ton for the honest feedback! I appreciate it!

Hello Community!!
This weeks motivational Monday is my Icon of the Week (I showed my mom this video last week and she hasn’t stopped playing it since…)
It’s CHER, because in an iconic interview she puts people in her place about what women can accomplish, using her own anecdote (and this was before the whole #MeToo and #TimesUp)
Check the 30 second clip from the interview at https://bearybestblog.com/2018/03/05/icon-of-the-week/
Enjoy!

I’ve never tried Reddit (or Quora) as a source of my traffic. Definitely should give them a try, because they also give you a higher DA 🙂

What a coincidence! I was just reading an article that recommended sharing blog posts on Reddit. Are there specific communities you share your posts in? Is the format similar to Facebook with a newsfeed?
LikeLiked by 1 person
It’s a little weird. There are topics to choose (subreddits) and some don’t allow blog posts. So I post in Historyblogs – but it’s the same content as here. But I haven’t shared all my posts, just a brief selection at the moment. The PC screen is a little odd – the app looks more modern but tbh I’ve only just touched the surface. I’m not sure I really need another social media platform!
