Brand new blogger? Welcome! Share a link to your first post, say hello to other new faces, and find your first few readers.

If you’re not new and are looking for support or feedback, the Community Pool is the place for you!For technical questions, visit the WordPress.com Support Forums.
To learn more about blogging, take a Blogging U. course.
To find, copy, and paste your link:
Head to your blog’s home page — not your dashboard, your blog itself. Click on the title of your post to open the individual post.Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.
Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to his or her very first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your first post with us, copy and paste the link right into a comment here. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment.
Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers.
We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:
- We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
- When commenting, the third time is not the charm: don’t share the same link repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
- Link directly to your new post, rather than to your blog generally — it makes it that much easier for folks to like the post or leave you comments.
- Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
- To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.
- When commenting, avoid copying and pasting the same response repeatedly. It makes it look like you’re not really paying attention. Not to mention, it’s spammy.
Currently blogless? You’re a click away from sharing your story.

Hi everyone… I am a new blogger and I would love to hear some reviews about my first blog.

Great post and photos. Your fourth paragraph is a bit long to read, splitting it would help. Apart from that, a great start and an incredible adventure!

I enjoyed what you’ve done so far. My only critique would be that the blue background is very strong and there isn’t enough of a contrast with the grey, so perhaps tone down the blue and make the grey more intense. Just a thought. It’s a nice site though.

I would suggest making your paragraphs smaller as this helps the reader on screens rather than paper. 🙂

Hi, everyone.
I’m not new to blogging—been at it for 8 years—but this week I started again, totally fresh. I wanted to focus on poetry.
You can find my first post here:

I even signed up for the Blogging Fundamentals course to feel like a new blogger again. )
I’ll check out a few of the other blogs here and maybe leave a comment or two. I’d love it if you’d do the same for me.
Thanks!

Walk the Goats
Just launched a new blog. About the ensemble cast of characters of my life. Most of them internal. Showing up in unexpected ways. Not always welcome. Sometimes sweet. Like goats being walked. Welcome.

Thanks for checking it out. It DOES help inspire getting feedback. Yes, one of my characters wants to write just for me. For the joy. The discovery. But some of my other ones? Yeah, they’re looking for praise…compliments…ok, maybe adulation :-).

I couldn’t see where to comment! I took my kids to a farm when they were young and little baby goats (kids – lol) would think our fingers were teats and sucked on them fiercely if you waggled your fingers in front of them! 🙂

I appreciate your comment and noting you couldn’t see WHERE to comment. I have that problem myself…finding it on my blog as well, sometimes, on others. All on a learn-something-new boatride, aren’t we!

I like how you use the tangible example of encountering goats to illustrate the often intangible collide of internal affairs we all experience.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yeah. The amazing thing is how I realize that the internal collisions are far more common than I realized. Mostly I’ve stayed “asleep” to that knowledge. And mostly, still do. I think the goats didn’t threaten! 🙂 Thanks for your comment.

I’ve had blogs on and off over the years with marginal success. I’ve tried to have them focus on a certain topic or a drawing a day and they ultimately fizzle out. This time I’m keeping it fairly loose and just writing about whatever I feel like at that time. I started last week but this is what came out of me today. Thanks for looking! -ST
