Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

    1. Great post!
I do write long posts – so don’t listen to me! But, sometimes I do wonder if longer posts could be cut in two as that is a win for the blogger as we get 2 for the price of 1!
I’m not sure if you could have done that with this post though, looks fab!

  2. I am interested in some help; I started with a free blog and it felt that it was on fire about three weeks now my traffic has slowed to a trickle. I am wanting to get some honest feedback in some steps I might take to increase my traffic. I was hoping to make a little passive income to use towards funding a better plan but I am now “toying” with the idea of that I might have to buy the better plan before I can even generate any income with it. Please come over and help me out; ALL INPUT WILL BE APPRECIATED THANKS @

    1. I had a look at your blog and really liked your style of writing! And yes, living on your own is hardly ever what you thought it would be but I think I kinda grew into it after a while, even though the first few months are hard sometimes 🙂 Its a process 😉

  4. Hi everyone – I’m new to this and love the idea of the community pool. I can’t wait to take a look at other blogger’s posts too. I’ve recently started a blog called My Journey to Imperfection. Please feel free to take a look at any of the posts, however the one I’d love feedback on is Refuse to Live the Lie – https://journeytoimperfectionblog.wordpress.com/2018/02/22/refuse-to-live-the-lie/

My goal for this blog is therapeutic for myself and I hope others find it helpful too in their journey. Comments can be left in the comments of the blog or as a reply here – I’m open to either. Thank you in advance!

    1. Very nice! I couldn’t agree with you more. That drive for perfection has been debilitating in ways. Where is the happy medium between our generation and the one before? It’s interesting….

  5. I’d like to invite everyone to come by and check out my double shot creative writing and photography piece. The subject is one of my cats I couldn’t keep after a relationship ended. I’m sure many of you can identify. It’s a bit emotional, but brief. Comments and feedback are always welcome, and please leave them in the comments section of the post page, and click the like button on the post page. If you like what you see, feel free to browse around, and follow along so you don’t miss anything as I post several times a week. Thanks in advance.

    How are you all ?
My blog is about books, games and movies!
I redesigned my About page and changed the font for my site. So any feedback on that or in general would be appreciated.

  7. Hi everyone. I’ve just wrote a post about emotional abuse and I’ve found it very difficult. It’s something I’ve been through and I’d love for my post to help someone going through something similar. Please let me know what you think. Thanks so much! Xxx

    1. I do relate to you a lot. PTSD and depression are what kept me from being creative and continuing blogging for so long, it’s great that yo get to impress yourself though. That was probably the hardest part about it all for me.
I like your handle a lot btw 🙂

    1. It’s quality not quantity! And falling into a routine is good! I normally say that if my post is about 600 words, that’s a good length at which people will most likely make it to the en! Keep it up! 🙂

  8. Hey everyone!
All right, first time posting to Community Pool, but I wanted to give this a shot, so I’m glad to meet everyone, and I look forward to checking out what others have shared!

My blog is focused on graphic design and my transition from a student to a professional. Currently, my first couple of months have covered getting used to writing every week, but I am getting around to writing advice for other designers, and my insights as a designer. While I know my blog’s appearance isn’t much yet, I’m almost ready to reveal my new design for it 🙂

Feel free to check out my latest post here, any feed back is greatly appreciated, and I look forward to meeting you soon!
