Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

    1. Hello!

The instructions are pretty clear 🙂

The only thing I had to do a double take on was item 1. At first, I got the impression that this item was supposed to be a description in addition to the submission piece. However, after reading it again, this item refers to the submission itself. Right?

My suggestion is to define time 1 as the submission piece. Hope that helps. Good luck!

    1. Loved it. Domestic abuse; emotional, physical abuse from a supposed loved one is such a real issue and thank you for discussing it from a outward perspective. Often those abused, or in abusive relationships are unaware of what others see. Well done

    2. Really enjoyed this; I love the feeling of love. That crush/new stage, where all your senses are on super alert, when you feel self doubt, worry about whether the other person has noticed you, the butterflies in your stomach phase. I love it all. I love how you captured your personal feelings too. Well done

    3. I can’t say I loved it because I wish the subject didn’t exist. I can say that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that you cared to tackle it and did it well. Congratulations, that was thought provoking and uncomfortable – exactly as it should be.

    1. I enjoyed hearing about your spiritual journey. One thing I do when considering a church is to get a copy of their belief statement. (Many churches put their belief statements on their website.) My reasoning is that unless their belief statement lines up with what I see in the Bible, there’s no point in considering them as a suitable place to worship. http://gracelead.co

    1. Hi, I have just read your post. I liked it that much that I liked the post on your blog.
Death is such a difficult topic and isn’t discussed as often as it should be. We often think it is so distant, where in reality no one knows when they will go.
I love the last bit, telling/reminding us to be good and kind towards others, because if we are going to go (inevitable) why not leave a nice mark behind.
      Well done,
      Kay x

  1. Hello bloggers. I hope you are all doing well.

I’ve recently posted two poems on my blog. The links are shared below.
Do check them out and let me know of your views on them.

    And

    A Poet’s Muse

Also, if you could check out the other poems on my blog and share your feedback, either here or on the blog itself would be great. Looking forward to reading your views.

    Thanks!

    1. Really enjoyed this post. Well done. Gratitude is such a major thing, we often overlook our blessings and complain about what we don’t have. One man’s trash could be another person’s treasure.

  2. Hi Fellow Bloggers!! This week I’ve moved away from my musings and daily ramblings and penned a few short stories rather than actual personal posts. These posts have been inspired from other blogs/blogger competitions on wordpress. I’m hoping to start entering some short story competitions in the near future so welcome any comments and critique to help me in my quest. Links below to my latest posts:

    1. I loved how you put everything into perspective, enjoy the here and now. There needs to be a fine balance between wanting to better your future, because rememeber ‘today is yesterday’s future’. So live in the moment. Great work, keep going

Very informative and interesting article – I’ll be interested to read more but I don’t think I want to be near a snake still!!

    1. The link comes across asking if you want to write a new post, likely because you copied the URL from the top of your post through WordPress.

If you’ll go to your actual site and copy that URL it’ll come across.

      1. Bah humbug! I got that complaint a while ago and I had *thought* I had it figured out. This technological learning curve is a steep one. I’ll keep working at it.
