Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

    1. Hi, love the colour of your site!
You might want to add Archives, Categories etc in a sidebar as this will add further depth to your Home page. I love Categories and find them an easy way to access my older posts. They are great for your readers too, take a look at mine to see how I’ve used them, if you like. 🙂

    1. I’ve no experience with boats, but loved your post. You could consider including the jobs you have already done like this on your Upcoming Jobs page (eg Refurbishment Jobs instead of Upcoming Jobs) and then link each job to the post that describes it as you do them, to make a useful resource and pull the story together. You could also link to the list page at the end of each job post so that people are more likely to notice it. Good luck!

  6. Hello and Happy Monday! I’m a young blogger and haven’t been at this for very long, so I’d love some feedback on my blog. Maybe on how I could improve my amount of followers, the way I write and topics to write about too! I mainly blog about my experiences, talk about pieces of writing I adore and post my own poems and material on there too.

    My site is:

    Hope you enjoy:)

    1. Hi!
You have a lovely blog! I absolutely love the way it looks!
Now, I noticed that you have created a page called ‘THEMES’ and I found that it has nothing posted in it. I realised that you probably wanted to have it as a heading for your themes like rants, music, etc.. However, I would suggest you to remove the page ‘THEMES’. I got a bit confused and so might get the other visitors! I think rants, music, etc. are easily understood to be themes and you don’t really need to mention that they are.
Also, gaining views takes time! So just enjoy the ride and don’t worry about the numbers!
      Happy blogging!🌹

    2. Wow, um I love Halsey too; and like, your blog is great. Same pinch with the 15-year-old thing though! (Is same-pinch a thing in the UK, or like anywhere else in the world, really, or am I just embarrassing myself?) Anyway, your theme and font and all really just gets me, or I get it, I don’t know, I love it. Pretty great stuff; keep blogging, you’re clearly great at it 😊

      1. Thank you so much! She’s phenomenal, isn’t she? I’ve never heard that expression before but I like it! I may steal it and use it myself…Thank you again, I’m now off to check out your blog:))

      2. She really is; and a little pro tip: you have to find something red & say Red Cross after same pinch; so that nobody else can pinch you.
I’m NOT part of some cult, I swear to God. Every kiddo here knows about this, it’s basic etiquette haha, hope you like the blog 🙂

      1. I’m doing the 10 day blogging university class on Branding through the site so I’ve been working on revamping my blog, making sure everything flows as it should, and that it attracts readers.

      2. I have a FB page that correlates with the blog. My IG is my personal page but I do post my blog links on there. I already have a good number of followers and didn’t want to start over. I like the being recognizable aspect of it tho. It’s certainly something to think Abington.

  7. Hi, everyone! Please check out my third installment of my blog series, Tacopalooza! In this series, I am eating at and reviewing every single taco place in my town of Odessa, TX — that’s 80 places in total! I’m challenging myself with this new series to get the hang of vlogging; I’m including a short video in each of my blog posts to accompany the writing. I’m really new at it and definitely still getting the hang of it, so I’m looking to get some feedback on how I’m doing — what’s working, any suggestions, etc. Thanks! run4theroses.wordpress.com/2018/02/13/tacopalooza-3-la-margarita/
