Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

      1. Okay, so this should be a feature provided by your theme, click on the My SIte button , top left, there you will see a section – Themes, click on customise next to it.
Now in the next screen, see if there’s a section for content – content options. You will find a setting to show full post or excerpt there, hopefully 🙂

    1. Took me a second but I finally see what you mean.
Most themes have “pre-programed” icons built into them for popular social media sites (like Twitter and Facebook). If you add a link to a site that’s not already built into the theme, it’ll give you the generic “this is a hyperlink” icon.

So, I guess your current theme doesn’t have a unique icon for PayPal, and I’m gonna bet that most others don’t either because PayPal is not, technically, a social media site.

What you could do instead is add a link to your PayPal in your main, non-sms menu. Or, a link to it in your sidebar.

  3. Hello beautiful people!

There comes a point in our lives when we feel helpless, when we are damaged, broken, tattered and lost in pieces. We stop believing in magic. We feel we are all alone. But are we really alone?
Imagine what if your soul writes a letter to you?
That’s my new poetry all about: With love, from Your Soul.
Dedicated to all the people who love themselves

  6. Hi all! I blogged for a bit a few years ago, but it sort of just faded on me. I recently relaunched a new blog last night. I had been sitting on it for a year. A lot of my stuff I was sharing on Instagram, but thought it was time to try and reach a wider audience. I’ve attached no outcomes or expectations to this blog. I hope you enjoy my first post, which hopefully will be the start of many. Cheers. https://mysouladventurer.blog

    1. It’s an interesting topic. I’ve never thought about it in terms of being a different brain. Sometimes, I think I know the best course of action immediately. Part of the reason may be accumulated life-lessons that pop into my brain without having to go through a formal problem-solving process. https://gracelead.co

      1. Thanks for stopping by! I thought it was a really interesting way to think about it and wanted to share 🙂 I do think life lessons definitely have a part to play when using intuition and equally I think there are things you just know instantly that you do or don’t want to do!
