Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.
Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

Hello Fellow-Bloggers,
I hope you’re all well! I’m working on a couple of new posts this week, so I’m sharing an old post from last summer. It’s a photo-essay on the beauty of landscape – all the shots are local to where I live in Scotland.
“I like the vastness of the sea; the movement in the water. I like the depth of the sky; the colours behind the darkness.” I’d love to hear what you think. Thanks!

I applaud your enthusiasm. However, I’m not very fond of people asking me to read their blogs and liking and commenting when they don’t leave a relevant comment themselves.
With that being said, I did visit your blog, and wanted to let you know that you seem to have a lot of redundant pages (i.e. Home, Page, Blog). None of them really lead anywhere. You might want to consider changing that.
I did leave you a comment on one of your posts I enjoyed.

Hello world and Happy Monday! 😁 Did everyone enjoy their weekend??
I am a creative writing blogger with a flair for providing my audience new words and phrases via British English! Sure, I am an American and may not be entirely spot on; however, I am a avid reader and I loooooove investigating new words. So I’m similar to an over-glorified dictionary, but the examples are my own. I dabble mostly in flash fiction and poetry. Would you mind stopping on by?

Good Day to All Community Comrades.
Please permit me a moment to climb aboard my virtual soapbox…so I can tell you how outraged I am that my photo essay about the history of slavery in Charleston, SC was just disqualified by the site moderators of AirForums.com–an internet gateway to all things Airstream that I have relied on throughout the 11 months of my one-year journey across America, and have used as a trusted forum to reblog every post written thus far.
I was informed by email that the post was permanently removed because, “We have some concerns that this post is not appropriate for our community.”
Really!? A conversation about slavery, a historical stain on the moral fabric of America’s conscience is deemed inappropriate for Airstream aficianados?!!
Thank goodness WordPress does not engage in the same kind of censorship, and finds the subject too controversial to publish.
This is what AirForums.com didn’t want their subscribers to see:
Rather than likes, comments are appreciated.

I am at a loss to comprehend their reasoning. It was a lovely read with beautiful pictures that left me wanting a lot more. I want the exhibition, I want to know more about their lives and why sweet water grass is in short supply. I have questions I need to find answers to, you intrigued me which, it feels like, is exactly what you set out to do.

I am concerned and confused as to why your post would be removed. Nothing stands out as being explicit; furthermore, this is part of our history…shouldn’t we have a right to reflect, remember, and learn from the past? How isn’t it appropriate, I wonder? This also makes me vastly curious as to who else they have sent this information to because your post was very information. I’m sorry you had to go through this!

I feel like posts on such platforms are censored just to display a bit of authority which is ridiculous! I could find absolutely no other reason to why your post was removed! Afterall, bringing about awareness is a great thing to do!

Controlling information is more than authoritative; it’s fear-based, and practiced by those who believe they are losing control. And perhaps a fatal flaw of the Trump administration.

Hello everybody, Simon from To Cut a Short Story Short here. My latest post is a spoof news report, entitled Death by DVD (850 words). The places are real but the events are totally fictional. I hope so anyway!

That was very uncomfortably real. KidsTeens are so impressionable that’s really scary. I was reading it feeling very sad and horrified and reminding myself it was fiction but all the time thinking ….is it?

It was an idea I had after watching a program about suicides in Bridgend, Wales. Then I researched other places where there were groupings of suicides. AFIAK the authorities don’t seem to know/say what is causing them, although there HAS to be a reason. The odds are astronomical against them being random events.
So my story hypothesized one possible reason. Hard to say if it’s total fiction or not. Thanks for the feedback!

The movies are completely random. Most of them I watch on my commute to work so if they’re available to download on Netflix chances I’ve watched/will be watching it soon. The rest are just DVDs I’ve accumulated over the last 10 years or so of collecting them. I’m trying to watch older movies as all the new releases have 100s or reviews within the first few days on WP so I’m trying to set myself apart from the rest

Nice website, but I found it a little bit hard to navigate, since I couldn’t find a page dedicated to your posts. But then again, I know people can see your recent posts from the right hand panel and on the about page. But just something you might think about next time you’re customizing your page. Like adding a home button.

I will try to do that….actually i am very new to this blogging site…althought i had created this blog almost a year back but couldn’t focus on it ever…its now that i m doing it…so it will take some time to fully understanding the workings of it and all other stuff 😅😅😅

It can become a little tiresome – I wrote about 600 words of a new post this morning stopped for work 12 hours ago and have not yet continued. It’s of my visit to Hampton Court Palace at the beginning of the month – so I’m already 2 weeks late with it!

I bet it becomes tiresome. Especially when you have a separate professional (and family) life.

Yes. I do work away between 2-4 nights a week most weeks so I benefit from TV or researching/writing in a lonely hotel room. This post (very short for me) was a hotel room study as was my suffragettes postcard/images post.

Hi writers,
I just started my blog a couple of months ago when I began having awakening experiences. Last night, I redesigned my page, and I posted two posts yesterday called What Happened To Me, Parts One and Two.
I would appreciate any feedback, and I’d be happy to give the feedback of a rookie in return. Haha
My blog is here: https://kenfales.wordpress.com/

Yes ! Sure. I really want to learn this practice of observing thoughts.
LikeLiked by 2 people
Cool! Let’s start with these thoughts you and I are exchanging now, as an example. We’ve had the thoughts. They’ve been exchanged. Perhaps we each feel some inspiration or just the good feeling of connecting in positivity. If we let the thoughts go, let the conversation go, make it meaningless, we still have that feeling of inspiration, of connectivity. We don’t lose anything. I remember you. You remember me. But the thoughts are gone. Does this make sense? 🙂

I might mention the books if they come up. Right now, we’re reading The Watchmen. Usually we read short stories. I think we’ll be reading poetry after The Watchmen. Are you looking for book recommendations? 😀

I thought your experiences were interesting and instructive. I think I would have liked to know a little bit more about why you were in those places and what sort of work you were there to do. For example I didn’t get why you had to scrape paint after explaining the purpose of masking tape.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Agreed! More context would add another layer of interest for someone dropping in to your blog for the first time.

The specific situations are such long stories that I wrote a book 🙂
I was doing renovation at a hotel in exchange for accommodation and I scraped the paint up after painting because they were upset there was paint on the tile. That led to another discussion on the value of masking tape.

Hi everyone, kindly share your thoughts on this issue: would you rather live in a haunted house where ghosts ignore you and do what they want or be a ghost in a house living out an unpleasant day from your life over and over again? Here: http://joseyphina.wordpress.com

I’m on the same page.
But maybe the thing was that the ghosts are just mean. For example, they break plates, scream at night so you can’t sleep, etc. Then you would just have to move.

That’s it, I’m asking Joseyphina to settle this; otherwise I’ll have trouble sleeping at night anyway, ghost or no ghost haha !
