If you’re not new and are looking for support or feedback, the Community Pool is the place for you!

To learn more about blogging, take a Blogging U. course.

To find, copy, and paste your link:
Head to your blog’s home page — not your dashboard, your blog itself. Click on the title of your post to open the individual post.

Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.

Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to his or her very first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your first post with us, copy and paste the link right into a comment here. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment.

Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers.

We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:

  • We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
  • When commenting, the third time is not the charm: don’t share the same link repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Link directly to your new post, rather than to your blog generally — it makes it that much easier for folks to like the post or leave you comments.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
  • To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

    1. Your story is beautiful and relatable! And you support my idea that this generation is building upon the wise of the last so thank you for that!

I have my own long distance, leap of faith, tale of the head v heart story to tell. I hope you’ll read it when I do. Good Luck in Munich! x

  1. Hello all! I’m very new to blogging, this is all very far out of my usual comfort zone which is probably why it had taken me a year to finally create a blog post but I have loaded my notes in my phone with far too many thoughts that I felt it was time to blog and share…and the word of God is not about hanging out in our comfort zones, I hope to encourage through this blog, I hope people may find hope, light, love, joy through this blog, Gods word is my guide, and I feel there is a very negative perception of that out in the world today, my hope is to challenges our thoughts and our hearts because The Bible And God is not a God of hate, but love, joy, and peace…and that I think is neglected in our society today, hope you take the time to read my blog, please ask questions, I only hope to help others better their lives through a truth that cannot be denied, and I have surely seen it in my life! Thank you and God bless! ❤️

    1. Welcome to the community! If you ever struggle, WordPress has a lot of great resources. The layout seems a lot more confusing than it actually is at first, give it a couple of days and it’ll feel like home!

  3. Hi!
I’ve had 3 posts two years ago but really only started blogging seriously within the last month I hope I qualify.
I’d appreciate anyone dropping by or any feedback. My followership has been quite limited.

  4. Apologies for posting twice, I thought my pic might come up but it didn’t!
My blog is going to follow my training progress for my first triathlon. Believe me, I am a very average person in the athletic department so it will reassure anyone who has a goal to just go for it! https://wp.me/p9Az1A-4

    1. Hi good luck! Great start to the blog – just a couple of things – you have a text widget on the right of your page and your ‘About’ page is yet to be filled in. Often the first blog post becomes the ‘About’ page but that is up to you. (Mine is very brief – and my first blog post probably should be edited to fit in there nicely – but I’m lazy!) 🙂

    1. Great start! You might like to add an ‘About’ page as other bloggers/readers do check this out. And also later as your site grows categories and archives so that readers can find your posts easily. Hope this helps 🙂

    2. Somehow, I found myself relating to this post so much! Thank you for that; it really connected and happened to encapsulate a lot of what I’ve been feeling recently! Keep writing!

  5. Good morning fellow bloggers! I am three weeks old and have been loving my blogging experience. My main focus is to try and achieve a 5 year plan I’ve set myself! Along the way I hope to inspire, motivate and help others achieve success. I’ve recently posted a few hints and tips for new bloggers on how to grow traffic and make your blog the best it can be from my experiences so far! Would love for you to check it out!

Why I chose blogging and why you should delve in!

    1. Hi, I really like your post. However, that pink is a little harsh on my eyes! I would suggest a calmer colour (pale pink or another light pastel?).

Your post is uncategorised and I LOVE categories. They are so useful as your blog grows as you can ‘file’ your posts under their group headings to help you and your readers find articles that they want to read. You may like to check out how I or other bloggers use categories.
      Hope this helps 🙂

    1. Great start! You may wish to add an ‘About’ page so readers can learn more about you. And you still have a text widget on the right hand side of the screen. You can change this with the customiser and add other cool stuff to your sidebar if your theme supports that.
      Hope this helps 🙂
