Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.
Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

hey everyone,
I wrote a piece looking at the difference between critique and criticism when it comes to online conflict and inviting people to see what they can learn when someone else has a different opinion to them. Check it out:
Would love to hear if this is something you’ve experienced personally or perhaps seen in others.
Hope you have an amazing blogging week.

Pioneering professional post-punk curmudgeon Mark E Smith passed away this week. I didn’t have much to say about him personally:

Your blog has a nice feel to it and it’s easy to read. To increase traffic you need to visit other blogs and add comments in the hope they’ll reciprocate. There’s lots of similar blogs on WordPress, so you should gain followers fairly quickly.

But I truly admire the sentiment behind your blog and love that the word is being spread: India does deserve a great blog like yours for its beauty! Your blog is a pleasure!

Hey everyone!
I wrote like, three posts in the last two weeks, which is a lot for me. I particularly would like some feedback on this post, which is a photo-essay of sorts. It’s really just four photographs, but I’ve never done this type of post before and would like some feedback on it. https://nikkispeaksfromtheheart.wordpress.com/2018/01/23/words-hurt-a-performative-photo-project/
If you have time to check out my other posts, I would love that too! I want to know if my posts come across as havign too much of the same content. Thank you for your time and consideration!

I started my blog two months ago, so I’m still new. I mainly publish from my phone and the capability is different to a desktop computer.
I’m just seeking feedback on what I’m doing well, what needs improvement and whether it’s worth reading. Thanks in advance!

Hey there! I’m not a new blogger, but I don’t have much traffic myself, so take my advice as you will.
Your posts are definitely worth reading, but I would suggest making your blog more visually interesting, as far as you can from your phone. Just change the theme, nothing fancy, and it will feel like a whole new blog! You don’t have to know HTML or anything, though if you do that would make things a lot more fun. You can just pick one of the premade themes. That’s just my suggestion, and if it’s not possible from your phone, don’t worry about it! Your posts are pretty interesting as is, and you’ll come into your own as a blogger soon enough

Hey, Your posts are fun and interesting, so don’t worry about your content. I have been blogging about 7 month and I am only really just starting to get a following. There are quite a few things you can do, but I would encourage you to get to a PC at least once as you will be able to alter the format of your site much easier than on your phone. If you want to increase traffic, there is no magic solution, but categorising and tagging helps, use tags like postaday or postaweek and your posts will show up in the feed for those (I tend to scan these tags and I think a lot of others do as well as it is just filled with a bit of all topics and something just catches your eye). Also tagging helps in searches internal to wordpress and externally in search engines. Also push out your posts to social media – tell your friends you write, let them see your work – you’ll be surprised by the support you get from them. Post regularly and add pictures to support your writing as this helps to catch the eye. Keep at it and readers will come. Finally, interact with other bloggers in places just like this. Visit their sites and comment and give feedback. People will then have a little look at your site as we are all nosey by nature and like to look at those who are coming to see what we have written :). Hope this helps.

Hie all, I am new to WordPress but not writing. So recently I decided I am going to get over my fear of publicly sharing my writing because despite having studied something else in university, I feel that writing is what I am really good at. However, I am blindly navigating my way through writing spaces e.g WordPress and would love some guidance and encouragement.
Thank you

Keep going! Everyone goes through this at the beginning, so you’re not alone. 🙂 Take a look at your site through the Customizer; this will let you know how people see your site and you can edit without having to leave the window.

Possibly try showing a snipet of each post to entice the readers to want to read more, you can do this on the customiser! Maybe add a little more colour to your home page too! Keep up the posts!

Hello Bloggers 💕
I am fair new at blogging and I don’t think I’ve even received one comment yet. My blog is a tool to heal as I share my story and to hopefully help someone going through similar situations. I write about narcissistic relationships, parental alienation and gambling addiction. Any feedback would be welcomed. Thank you 💕
