Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

    1. Hello! Since the issue you’ve encountered is happening while the WordPress app, it would be easiest to respond and resolve it if you contact our mobile support team directly from your app — from the login screen, tap the (?) icon in the top right; while logged in, visit the Me tab and select “Help & Support” and you’ll see further instructions there.

    1. Loved this post. It is something that I feel strongly about too. I am from India, a democratic country with a constitutional right to freedom of speech. Yet, it is extremely saddening that we do not have a society/community where we can express out opinion. We are immediately ridiculed, shut down and some others are even murdered. There is no safe space to express our political, religious, cultural viewpoints; it is immediately a cause for debate with no respect for the fact that it is a fundamental right to be free about your opinion.

I love how you have explored this. Liked a few other posts as well. Very insightful! Keep up the good work 🙂

Do check out my blog and let me know your thoughts. It follows no particular niche, I just right about my experiences, underlining self-love, hedonism, equality and freedom.

  4. Hey guys! Guess I’m a day late…that’s what happens when you procrastinate. I’d love it if you could take a look at my newest post – an original poem.

    1. Hi, nice post. Your writing is easy to read, although this post seems to be verging on the nature vs nurture debate and I think that your train of thought could have been supported if you brought in some elements from social writings, especially around how children learn language as this would then give some weight to your own argument. You certainly bring a new and inspirational slant to the way talent is looked at. Well done.

  5. I am so grateful for this wordpress community as not only have I stumbled across some amazing blogs but I value every single piece of feedback I get!!

My latest post is in relation to how every experience of the past had its purpose on getting you to where you are today, even if some of those past experiences were negative or painful. It is inspired by a speech I watched by Steve Jobs.

    Any feedback would be great.

    Thanks!

    1. Hey, firstly great start to the blog – content is the most important!

Some feedback to help out imho – I would invest some time in a homepage that sorta gives people an idea of what to expect, maybe some pictures within the blogs to make it a little more visual. Also maybe get a like button, subscribe button and a reblog button via a theme change to get a better feel of blog response.

Wish you the very best with it! Keep on blogging!

      Cheers!

    1. Hi, your blog is well laid out and the writing is easy to digest. I would say you probably need to choose if you want to add a feature image or have the image within the text of your blog as currently they are showing twice at the top of the article.
