Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. Hey guys! I’ve recently relaunched my blog under a completely new lifestyle theme, although it’s currently been hijacked my Blogmas!!
I would love someone to have a quick look at my last couple of posts and see if the personal articles about my own life or the more promotional advice style posts are better/more enjoyable to read. I’m still very new to all this so any feedback would be great! Thank you xoxo

  2. Hey there, here is my 25th post!
    https://historianruby.wordpress.com/2017/12/05/the-royal-double-wedding/

This has twice been pushed to the back of the queue as my last two posts were too eager to be written! I hope you enjoy 🙂

The post I published yesterday has been viewed 92 times already (although as a family history post it has had interest from a small family history group on my Facebook page). Seeing as the research for it led me to falling out of the loft and breaking my ribs on Friday night – I think I deserve the 100 views today!!! 🙂

  3. Hello everyone,
the post I published is for all those who are interested to incrase sexual awareness or who would like to help with incrasing sexual awareness.
Taboo subjects sometimes can lead to difficult situations, this is why I think it’s good to break the silence and find courage inside to talk.
    Here is the link.

    1. I enjoyed the content. I did, however, find the blue text caps on light blue background a bit distracting. But all in all, interesting post.

  4. Good evening to all:
Together Tuesday is back and it’s better than ever! Enjoy a 2 minute read: “The True beauty of sex.”
    https://wp.me/p876wZ-UB

    Excerpt:
Sex in marriage should be one of the greatest expressions of love. It’s power goes far beyond stimulating the senses. Sex, or more appropriately, making love, unites husband and wife both physically and spiritually.

    Enjoy.

  5. I’ve just taken the plunge to put my WordPress site live today, after planning it out as a private site. I’m a professional garden writer and would love any feedback.

      1. Thank you! Though I have written quite a lot over the years, it’s my first attempt at blogging, and my sweetheart Susurrus (Susanrushton.net) helped guide me to keep things simple…

    1. Hi,
I read your ‘Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish’. What a lovely story! Your blog looks great and is well laid out. Have you linked your blog to your social media? I didn’t see any icons and I didn’t see categories or tags as they will help readers locate your posts. I use a side bar (not available with all themes, I think) and that’s where I keep my categories and tags.
Take a look if you wish 🙂

  6. Hello everyone.

My name is Joe, I come from London in the United Kingdom or England. (I always say England)

Recently, I went to a special launch of a Museum that was very close to my heart called Headstone Manor Museum which is just on the outskirts of the city itself. I was a volunteer at Headstone Manor for three years and it paved the way for me to been able to lay the foundations of getting a job and it inspired me to volunteer in a number of museums across London.

The Museum just reopened it’s doors so I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to write a post to promote it.

Let me know what you think of the post, any feedback is a step in the right direction.

As well as the blog about the Museum, I recently went on an exciting adventure to Dublin, I am going to publish a trilogy of blogs very soon but I wanted to explain what the purpose of the visit was because I thought that was an important element to when the trilogy gets published. Also it is a good way for readers of knowing what you can get up to when visiting Dublin.

Why I chose to visit Dublin

    Many Thanks,

  7. Hello everyone,

I just jumped into the WordPress fray a couple weeks ago and still noodling my way around, getting a handle on blogging, following similar bloggers, etc.

I’m trying to post at least once every 2-3 days on a variety of topics, but with a primary focus on a Gen Xer’s view on the changing landscape of communication, technology and entertainment. Thank you in advance if you take a browse:
