New blogger? Welcome! Share a link to your first post, say hello to other new faces, and find your first few readers.

If you’re not new and are looking for support or feedback, the Community Pool is the place for you!For technical questions, visit the WordPress.com Support Forums.
To learn more about blogging, take a Blogging U. course.
To find, copy, and paste your link:
Head to your blog’s home page — not your dashboard, your blog itself. Click on the title of your post to open the individual post.Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.
Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to his or her very first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your first post with us, copy and paste the link right into a comment here. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment.
Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers.
We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:
- We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
- When commenting, the third time is not the charm: don’t share the same link repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
- Link directly to your new post, rather than to your blog generally — it makes it that much easier for folks to like the post or leave you comments.
- Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
- To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.
Currently blogless? You’re a click away from sharing your story.

Hello Ashley,
Welcome to the community.
Nice start. Things will take some getting used to, and you will have to do some explorations, but I’m sure you will get the hang of things pretty soon.
All the best, and stay blessed.

I noticed that you still have some placeholder text in your blog’s sidebar, over to the right of your posts — you can remove or edit that by going to My Site > Customize > Widgets. Look for the Text Widget!

Hey y’all! I’ve only had my blog for a little under a week now! I’m still slowly building the links and figuring everything out, so any tips and tricks would be awesome!

Great post!
My tip is to post weekly (Monday) on community pool and tell other bloggers a little about your blog and post the link to your latest post at the same time.
I also suggest using your categories when you post – for as your personal library grows your blog postings are easy to find by yourself and your readers. If you’d like to see how I’ve used categories please check mine out.

Thank you for the tip about the categories..definitely a huge help!

Hi, great that you’ve a post on Remembrance Day. In the UK they are pushing to promote the poppy to young people to ensure that the practice is continued.
If you copy the URL and paste it here you will give bloggers the opportunity to link straight to your post as otherwise they may not bother. Also I suggest using a side bar to add categories and tags and archives etc.

I really like the look of your blog. It’s very neat, simple and the photos you choose to go along with your posts are really fitting 🙂 I’m very into your header image as well, the lego is cute and the colors bring some warmth into it. The only sad thing about your blog is that there isn’t a like option, or at least I couldn’t find any.

Yea, totally in sync with whatever you just told about the blog!
Marcus, neither did I find anything to like the post. But, your blog must say is pretty neat. ☺️

One tip — the bright red background of your blog makes it a bit hard to read. You might want to try a shade that’s either lighter or darker.

One thing I noticed — you’re using a lot of tags and categories on some of your posts. The WordPress.com Reader actually filters out posts that use more than 15 tags and categories (combined) as an anti-spam measure, so using this many tags actually makes it harder for folks to find your posts, which is sad! If you cut your tags down to the most relevant, you’ll actually draw more readers.

Oh I had no clue about it. Thank you so much Michelle! ☺️ Will cut short tags to most relevant for all the posts I have added till now and follow the same in future! Thanks a lot for stopping by and giving your feedback! ☺️

Hi, I checked out your blog and could see that you could benefit from customising your blog. If you add a side bar with archives, categories and tags it would help people locate things on your site. Also if you copy and paste a link here you will assist other bloggers in locating what you want them to read.

Hi. Thanks. I’ll do that.
