Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.
Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

Good morning!
I’m just finally starting to get into the rhythm of posting regularly now that my life has settled into a routine. However, I’m still trying to find my niche. Would love some feedback on this post (or any post, or blog formatting, or anything else) to see if I’m heading in the right direction:

You don’t need a niche! Just write about what you love! Your blog is beautiful and as a fellow book-hoarder, I understand the struggle!

Hi fellow bloggers!
I would really appreciate it if you could check out my latest blog. Usually, my posts are arts-related but sometimes they’re based on my personal experiences and social interactions with others, as this one is. It’s called Are we Losing the Art of Conversation? Any thoughts or feedback are welcome. I will happily check out your blog too 🙂

While I greatly enjoy my content, getting it “out there” is challenging and feels somewhat ethereal.
What advice do you have for me?
Where are the readers?
How do you add value so that people keep coming back?
Also where do you find support? Blogging can be a lonely “sport” especially in the beginning when post engagement is low. My immediate friends and family don’t really get it and I think are afraid of what I might publish about them.
I could definitely use some support, feedback, and encouragement as well as criticism.-Emily

I personally love your blog! I have no advice on readers, since I’m still figuring this out myself. But you do have at least 1 dedicated reader 🙂

It is always so nice to hear from you! Thank you. Your encouragement is greatly appreciated as usual!

One way to find prospective readers is to use the WordPress Reader. Put some tags in the Reader that relate to subjects of posts you write. Once the Reader returns posts for a tag, find some that you enjoy. Put likes or comments on them. This should get those bloggers curious about your site and get you some visits. https://gracelead.co

Thank you. I’ll look into that

Hi, finding readers??? I wish there was a handbook! Just keep doing what you are doing, I think consistency is a good tool and publishing on a schedule helps. I post my personal stories on a Sunday morning and get great feedback that people are waiting for them. I use Facebook for my recipes and find that here people will share an like, reaching more people they then come to my site.. Hope that helps and the support is here, all around you.

I agree. Maybe we could crowd source a handbook! Hmm, I’m not very consistent with my posts. I post all the time, but not on a certain day. Thanks for the idea. I have had very little success with FB…apparently my friends on FB aren’t a fan…lol

Hello,
We ask that bloggers share one feedback request or link at a time to give everyone a chance to find others to comment on their posts. While we recommend sharing just one link to focus people’s attention, if you feel truly compelled to share more than one, thanks for doing so in one comment. (I should add, though, that comments with multiple links often get caught in our moderation queue, since our anti-spam software sees them as a higher risk for being spam.) Thanks for your cooperation, and for participating in the Community Pool!

I started my blog Friday. I am still trying to learn how to format and make the design more attractive, but plain works for now. How do you get more traffic? I have it on my Twitter profile and have announced to friends on Facebook. Other tips?

One way to get more traffic is to search in the Reader for keywords that match your blog. Interact, read, like and comment on other blogs with similar interests. That way they’ll get curious about your blog!

Maybe some comparisons? Like some detective plots are based on stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle or Agatha Christie, or the history of vampire books for example? Or talk about bookcovers and if they fit the story? Just some ideas 🙂 I like your blog!
