Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.
Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

Good Morning Swimmers,
Today, I celebrate 6 months on the road!
In the week off since the previous Community Pool, I’ve given “Streaming thru America” a makeover (which I am still fine-tuning), and embraced the minimalism that I hope better supports the blog.
But you be the judge!
Latest entry…some commentary, some philosophy, some satire, and lots of photos!
Thank you for your comments and feedback; they are the best tools that help me hone my look and style. Neal

Wow interesting. Love the picture too. Maybe I am being silly but I could not figure out how to leave a comment on your actual page??
LikeLiked by 5 people
If you are at the Home page looking at the article, under the title of each article there you’ll see “Leave a Comment,” try clicking on that. IF you ACTUALLY click on the article, where you ONLY see THAT article, you should be able to Reply right after you finished reading the post.
WordPress is a bit confusing in that way. I think that is why you will see with people’s Blog, where you can read a paragraph of their Post and then you have to click a link to see MORE of the post. THIS is so you can LIKE/COMMENT more easily if you are “IN” that specific article. DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?

I just changed from Hemingway to Lovecraft just a little while ago! Always good to change but yes it takes awhile to make the subtle adjustments here and there. But I like your post and how you have the photos interspersed throughout. I’ll check out some more of your stuff too.

Hello. I just started blogging last month. My first post was my unique and heartbreaking story of love and loss. It has gotten a lot of feedback and a very positive reaction. Then last week I posted my unreal personal 9/11 story. Going forward I want to write about my personal struggles with grief, how it changes with time and the reactions of others towards me. Thanks for all the encouragement and inspiring comments thus far. It has inspired me to be writing more soon. https://tenthousanddays.blog/

Dear fellow bloggers, Manhood Monday is back! This week’s post is: See the Good. I hope that it’s a helpful/enjoyable read. (1.5 minute read time)
Excerpt:
A few years ago I had the privilege of teaching French to a totally blind student. I say privilege because that’s what it was. It was also one of the greatest challenges in my teaching career up to that point.

Hi all. Had a few quiet weeks here but I have now been busy. First is this post which as usual for me, combines a song with photos that fit the mood or essence of what the song is about-
Then it is Monday, so it is the return of Monochrome Mondays!
Lastly, it was time for a theme change so let me know what you think! I still have some tweaking to do but a little freshen up is always good!

Hiya guys! I’d appreciate any feedback on my blog, I write a music blog and have just reached 50 posts! I just worry sometimes because I don’t seem to get many comments or follows, do you think this is because my subject is to niche? Thanks xx
https://guitargirl.blog
LikeLiked by 10 people
I think there is no such thing as “too niche.” You should blog about what you like and not get caught up with how many followers you have. (Easier said than done, I know). I have a pretty specific niche, but that is what I like writing about and it brings me joy! (I write a tennis blog from my cat’s perspective) And I just hope that it can bring some joy to others, as well. Have a great day!

Thanks so much! I get what you’re saying and I’ll try to not get hung up on followers because I like writing about music! Thanks for the advice xc

I agree with the poster above. I don’t think you can be too niche, you just have to find your audience. Keep writing about things that make you happy! 😀
Just out of interest, do you follow other blogs and comment on them? I have found that new followers don’t come from out of the blue…it’s normally people that you are interacting with in other places. The lovely hiker, Gabe, wrote a really helpful post about this. Have a peek at the part where he talks about the 80/20 rule for blogging… http://www.almostunsalvageable.com/proven-strategies-building-my-blog-community/

“The problem about living all your life in the place you were born is that you’re never really given the chance to formulate your own character. You’re always your grandmother’s kindness, or your father’s ruthlessness, or your mother’s sharpness, or your grandfather’s humour. You’re always going to be the name, the religion, the address, the number on your birth certificate. You’ll make friends who look like you, who believe in the same god, who know your parents, who think they know everything about you that you inevitably can’t see yourself through anything other than the eyes they see you with. I guess home is nice, until your old wardrobe’s clothes don’t fit you anymore.”

Hello people! Mona here… For the first time in my life I have tried my hands at fiction. I was really sceptical to publish this post, as many things could go wrong with a love story. It could turn out to be too cliché or boring. It would mean a lot of anyone could give a feedback on my post. I could think of writing the second part then.

Hi! I love the title of your blog. First I have a question for you, would you consider doing a blog post on what its like on a day-to-day basis living in FL….the heat, bugs, how often do you really get to the beach, etc? I’ve considered moving there and can’t find any down to earth advice!
Second, I LOVE the photos. I might suggest doing it slide show style so your content doesn’t get lost in between them.
Also your blog is difficult to navigate. Maybe a home button and categories that I can see without having to click on? Just a few suggestions.
I hope this helps, and I hope to here more from you!

Wow! I’ve honestly never thought about doing a post like that, but it sounds like a great idea! I do have the next few weeks of posts planned out, but I would be happy to connect with you and tell you all about what it is like to live there and anything else you would like to know! If you are interested, we can exchange emails or connect on Facebook or another social media site! 🙂
I’ve thought about doing a slide show format for pictures, but have been worried about readers not scrolling through them. However, I think it would be a good idea to give it a try!
I will definitely add a home button and some categories to make it easier to navigate. My blog will be definitely undergoing some navigation tomorrow and the next day!
Thank you for all of your suggestions! Thank honestly helped so much! And I would seriously be willing to answer any and all questions regarding Florida, so please don’t be afraid to ask! 🙂
