Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

The Community Pool will be closed for maintenance next week (September 11) — we’ll see you again the following Monday (September 18)!

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. Since I started my blog at the beginning of this year, I feel like a new breath of life has been pumped into my entire existence. I’ve always been a writer, and during the years that I gave it up, there was always a huge emptiness in my life. I want to thank this community for allowing me the creative freedom to express my thoughts and ideas, because now I’m motivated to grow and progress as a writer and person each day by being part of such an inspiring community. I have many unpopular opinions, and some would describe me as a bit of a hippie, but despite my unique and at times strange perspective, I have had such positive reinforcement from the incredible people on this site.

Thank each and every one of you for giving me the chance that I’m still learning to give myself.

    1. You were funny, at first you said you did to have much to say, but THEN I think you realized with all those fabulous photos you DID have a story to tell us. Did you take the photographs? They are beautiful, very professional looking. I would suggest breaking a story like this into 2-3 posts next time (more than 4 photos and I start just skimming your post.). There were A LOT of good photos to see, but it was very long. If you had 2-3 posts, we could focus more on the photos and your message. Thanks for sharing. http://www.brilliantviewpoint.com

      1. Hahaha I am so relieved!!! I put something up on the menu section Im sure you’ll find it adequate and insightful but to give u a short answer, I really just want to reach out to other humans out there who are just figuring life out day by day, experience after experience. Hopefully an insight into my life will not only entertain but teach…comfort…hopefully..one way or the other..

And yes that’s “short” in my book ☺

    1. Great posts! I love the photos of food in your blog. They’re always so laid out and pretty. I can tell you put a lot of time into formatting your photos before uploading them. I’m also a travel blogger looking to format my blog to be easily navigated and post easily read. I would love to colab with you on an exchange post sometime!

      1. We could each write a post on a decided specialty and choose a day for the blog exchange to happen! I am able to contribute insights on the U.S., Central America, Southeast Asia. As well as teaching ESL online and life in NYC. I would love to have a guide post on a European country, as you’ve been to so many places there! What do you think?

  5. Hi, there…my name is Truly and I invite you to read my latest post. Contrary to my usual optimistic and uplifting offerings, this one speaks to the discomfort of being let down–and angry. Not in a bitter way–that’s not my style. However, human, I do have a range of emotions–so, I’ve used humor, imagination, wordplay, and a few pop references to make my point that being ones best self isn’t always a smooth path. You can find my post at

I’ll be sure to return the favor (I’ve met/followed many wonderful bloggers this way. 🙂

  7. I’d like to invite everyone to come by and check out my double shot photography piece and poem of the week, “Hello, My Child.” My cat is the subject Scampers is the subject of both the picture and the poem, and I think I’ve done a good job of capturing her in both. The response to the piece was very positive. Cat people, poetry people, photography people, and everyone else is welcome to come by and meet this little life. Comments and feedback are always welcome, and please leave them in the comments section of the post page, and click the like button on the post page. If you like what you see, feel free to browse around, and follow along so you don’t miss anything as I post several times a week. Thanks in advance.

  8. Hi everyone I hope you’re all having a mighty fine time at the pool:P
On my blog you can find bits of everything; poetry, book reviews, random stories from my life, travel adventures and much more. If you’re into bad jokes, too many puns and generally a lot of randomness, then I’ll assure you that you’ll love it!
I’ve really tried to step up my blogging game, so I hope that’s noticeable.
Anyways, too long of a rant already. I hope to see you over there 😀

    1. Hey there! I enjoyed your post. You could probably make a few more in depth posts as updates later on with all the different things you covered in there. I’m in the same boat and totally understand how stressful school and tests can be. Best of luck this year 🙂

    2. Welcome to WordPress! You’re off to a great start. Love the first post and I’m glad you have an “about” page because those are always the first thing I read. My only suggestion for now would be to update your gravatar image so you don’t show up as an anonymous little gray icon. It doesn’t have to be an actual picture of you, but uploading something makes it a little more personal. Happy blogging! ❤

    1. Your blog is so clean and organized! I love the theme, your use of artistic pictures, and the length of your writing. The effect is very polished, which makes it a lot of fun to click and read through.

  10. I really appreciate this blog post. Being new and all I’m a bit like a fish out of water. I struggle with finding interesting things to post about. Sometimes finding an interesting topic takes me hours. Then the promotion of the article next. I can’t imagine getting to 10 thousand let alone 100 thousand views.

    1. Hi! I never thought daily news-type stuff could be interesting. But your blog certainly doesn’t belong to the boring kind. So I gave you a follow 🙂
I’m sure your traffic will grow with time- don’t worry about that.
      Cheers!

  11. I can’t believe it’s the official end of summer!

Going on 6 months being on the road, and I found a gem of a National Park with few visitors. I’m reluctant to share the info for fear that the crowds may start coming, but for the blogger community, there should be no secrets. So, hit the link and see for yourself!

    Fire in the Hole

If you’ve been there, I’d be interested to know if you agree. If you’ve thought about seeing the park, I hope this post is a positive influence.
Either way, enjoy the last of summer, and no dunking in the pool.

    1. Wonderful, wonderful photos!! I love national parks in the US. Until I did a roadtrip around the US last year, I didn’t realize that our country was so amazing. I would love to go again one day. My favorite would have to be Zion, though that one definitely has more tourists, the Narrows is worth it. Would love to do a collab post with you sometime!

      1. I completely agree, when we had our national parks pass and traveled the United States, we went to every single park we passed. Beautiful hikes, and great for the body and soul. 🙂
