Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

The Community Pool will be closed for maintenance next week (September 11) — we’ll see you again the following Monday (September 18)!

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

    1. You’re getting back to the basics with stress relief, and I appreciate that. In a world of complex cure-alls, elaborate routines, and roundabout methods, it’s nice to have simple tips that work for many people. With comments, people can share specific sources of stress relief like the names of songs, sites, movies, places to go, even prompts. Keep up the good work!

  2. Evening bloggers,

I’ve very much enjoyed the last couple of months that I’ve frequented this site but the other day something happened that showed why I adore this community,
A comment on something i wrote lead to a back and forth that resulted in this collaborative effort

Joint project: Working together while watching the words fall into place  – Individual expressions of a naive mind.
    https://emolovepoetry.blog/2017/09/06/joint-project-working-together-while-watching-the-words-fall-into-place/

It took no more then 20
Mins and was just two people using the inspiration from the other to bring to life these words on a page.

Thank you to Nitesh (his link is on the post check out his numerous talents across all forms of writing and drawing) and to the wordpress community as a whole,

I used to avoid the toxicity of the internet so to find a haven full of opportunity, hope and helpfulness has been a blessing,

    Peace out,
    Brett.

  3. Blog family!

  4. I just recently returned from an extremely long hiatus. But I hope to begin a 100 days of writing challenge for myself that I would love some support with! Even if you’re not interested in that, I wrote about self- worth and shitty bosses today, so that’s something.

    1. This is such a beautiful and eye-opening post, I couldn’t agree more with what you stated, it’s definitely something everyone needs to read and understand!! Your blog has a lovely picture-esque look it, I like how the images stand out and complement the text,
In terms of widgets, I couldn’t find a follow button on the footer, depending on how many posts you’ve written you could always add a widget that displays your ‘most popular/latest posts’ or one that shows categories so that it’s easier to navigate.
      I hope this was useful!!

    1. Your content looks helpful. It would be easier to read if you did some editing for grammar and sentence. For instance, here’s an edited version of your first sentence. “The first thing that everyone craves when opting for digital marketing, is to be on the top of the Search Array.” https://gracelead.co

    1. Your blog has a really nice, clean and overall, minimalistic look to it, it’s easy to navigate and find certain posts, You have many useful widgets and the About Page really expresses you as a person and the potential you see for your site. Your writing style is unique, captivating and interesting to read.
      I hope this was useful!!

  6. This isn’t my first time blogging. I had a blog on here a couple of years ago in which I wrote about my hobbies. I stopped it once life kinda got in the way. Now, I’m starting back up again with a different blog. It’s much more emotional, and I am writing therapeutically now. I only have a couple of posts up now, and I haven’t really tinkered with it yet. Still need to add widgets and pictures. But because of the content, it’s can just be hard sometimes.
    Any feedback would be great.

  7. Hello folks! LOOOONG TIME! I used to post in here almost every Monday, a year ago. Than I just stopped doing my blog and focused on other things. NOW I’M BACK and with a new site. When I first started doing this whole blog thing I didn’t know what I wanted to do I a was all over the map. Than I found photography. My first blog turned into a mix of my own posts, challenges I participated in…than I stopped. Now that I have had a little time to hone in my skill I thought, Why not give it another go. SO I am.

My old site, which is still active for the time being, can be found here.
