Where bloggers come together to give each other feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.
Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

I really liked the post, it was well-written yet had some important words of wisdom that would be helpful to a lot of readers. Though I’m sorry for the bad breakup I’m glad to see that you’re doing much better now, I do agree with the idea that new beginnings can be disguised as painful endings!!

Hi everybody!
I have one post I published yesterday which I need a little feedback on. I still don’t know if it is too long, too personal for a traveling blog, too detailed. I like it the way it is but I would love to hear your opinions. Thank you all so much!

Hi all! My blog is just about a month old now, and I’m having too much fun with it! (and just as much fun with interacting with other bloggers!)
I’ve given it a little bit of a redesign in the last few days, so I’d hugely appreciate some feedback on how it’s looking – is it nice and clean, and easy to read? Are the articles interesting, or what kind of things could I be focusing on? Are there any general points that could be improved? Hope you enjoy it! 🙂

Your blog looks pretty and the layout itself is well organised, I like how you have images to represent the posts, it makes the site more visually appealing. You have a good amount of widgets on the side which is always good and helpful for visitors on your site. Once you have a lot of posts, I’d recommend putting different categories up so certain types of posts are easier to find.
In terms of what you should be focusing on, well, that’s up to you. because your blog is your own, you decide what your passion is when it comes to blogging. As long as you write with passion and meaning, people will be interested in reading your posts, just don;t lose your inner voice trying to follow others.
I hope this was useful!!

Thank you very much for taking the time to check it out, and write such great feedback! I’m glad to hear that it looks good; it was a bit of a mess before! Categories are definitely something I’m going to do; I think I’ll replace the tag cloud.
And I’m also glad you advised about writing with my own voice, and I agree. It’s definitely something I’m passionate about, having had a couple of reminders this year not to take life for granted (long story), so travel and this blog have definitely become things for me to focus on, and pour a bit of creativity into. I’m loving having an outlet for it!
It was definitely useful; thank you again! I’ll certainly check out your blog, too! 🙂

Your site is clean and easy to navigate, I like how you have an About page with a bit about yourself and your blog. You have some really useful widgets on the sidebar too which makes it easier to find certain things, as a reader. In terms of your posts, I’d suggest adding categories and tags so the posts can be found easily on WordPress Reader. If you’re interested I have a post on boosting blog traffic with useful tips https://whenlifeawakens.wordpress.com/2017/08/19/100-followers-blogging-tips-tricks-beaboss-series/

Hiya, bloggers! I’m relatively new to blogging (I’ll hit three weeks on Thursday!), and I have a couple of things I’d like input on. Feel free to take your pick or scroll on past. 🙂 x
1. I wrote a three-part series on TRAVELING in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Do you think “series” like this are better than writing it all in one massive post? Or does a short series become redundant/boring?
Part One: https://kaiyaknox.wordpress.com/adventures-up-one/
Part Two: https://kaiyaknox.wordpress.com/adventures-up-two/
Part Three: https://kaiyaknox.wordpress.com/adventures-up-three/
2. I wrote a BOOK REVIEW (my first for the blog and my first book review in about four years), and I’d just like thoughts from other book reviewers — Am I missing anything? Is the way I formatted the post okay or overly categorized? What’s your opinion on including spoilers? (I tried to be spoiler-free, but I caved and slipped one in at the end [with a warning].)
https://kaiyaknox.wordpress.com/book-review-big-little-lies/
Thanks for your time and input! xx

I’ve had a look at your travel posts and I think they’re wonderful, I like how you give a few short points on what the next part will be about and the links you’ve included for different places. In terms of the length, it’s a good amount to write for each part so it’s even better that you split into three sections. Thought I would say for some of the paragraphs you could split further so they’re not too much to read all in one go. I don’t think a short series could ever be redundant especially if you’ve written it with passion and put the time and effort into writing it.
In terms of the book review, I’m not familiar with the layout that’s usually used, but I like the introduction part that gives more background on the book itself. I also liked that you included content warnings since some readers can be triggered by certain mentions. And the spoiler warning was clearly highlighted as well which can easily be identified and skipped if readers don’t want to know or spoil the story for themselves.
I hope this was useful!!
