Community Pool

Where bloggers come together to give each other feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

    1. I checked few of your poems and they are incredible. Would love to read more soon. The main thing I loved about them is that they are short and meaningful. I feel connected while reading. Have a lovely day!

  1. Greetings, @Michell M and Team, Fellow Participants,

I have reviewed my post to show my angle. How does this angle appeal to you? I would welcome any feed back on it. I thank you kindly.

Shaping Your Story, Week One: What’s Your Angle?
A young pigeon which attempted to fly from a ceiling, but landed on the ground some 10 feet away survived its ordeal, when I cared for it and set it free to enjoy its freedom to life.

Here are two other separate links and I invite your critique. Thanks you for your time and patience.

    Week Two: Intros and Hooks

    1. I have not seen mice in my house for years until July 2017 when I bounced into two of them as I was walking along the pathway that leads to my kitchen.

    2. Week 3: Finding Your Key Moment

Growing up and living in the world as we know it can be confusing most times especially when there are so many questions: and so little relevant answers. As a seeker of “Truth,” I am committed to staying on the side of the infallible Word where answers to questions are reliable and relevant.
And my passion is to point men and women to the Word not only that they may be inspired thereby, but also trust the infallible Word as a reliable source of help and to draw strength from it always for their physical, mental, social, spiritual and eternal well-being; and to share this love with all others as well.

I wish us well in our present and future endeavors.

    Sincerely,
    Redeeming Luv

  2. Hey bloggers,
That time of day again that I self promote so shamelessly

    http://emolovepoetry.blog/2017/08/18/detoxify-the-poison-of-the-burning-trees/

Again it’s me trying something a little bit different to prior stuff,
Possibly due to my mindset itself evolving back to a more cleansed state so it’s making personal reflection a little more harder to mine (so to speak)
But having set a challenge of 365 posts I’ve gotta try and keep It fresh if not for anyone that’s reading but for myself,

    Brett

    1. For me, your post was well-organized. I like the set of couplets (reason for the problem and a tip for overcoming it). The tone was down-to-earth and encouraging. On SMART goals, I usually make “R” relevant. By relevant, I mean that the goal is one related to my overall mission. If not, I need a different goal :-). I incorporate realisitic as a compoent of “A” achievable. https://gracelead.co

    1. Your post was informative and had a good balance of photos and narrative. If you’re up for it, a follow-up post with suggestions on how to come prepared as a tourist would be nice. It could include what to bring, how to best arrange your schedule, how to interact well with the residents. https://gracelead.co

    1. My understanding is that it sometimes might, and that it will likely try to rank the original post higher than your reblog of it. It’s ultimately impossible to say with 100% precision what Google will or won’t penalize (or reward). But as long as you don’t reblog too much (the bulk of your content is still original, by you), and especially if you add some value to the material you reblog — with commentary, original analysis, etc. — I don’t think you should see your ranking get hurt in any major way.
