Community Pool

Where bloggers come together to give each other feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. Hello to all the readers and writers out here!
We all go through phases of life which tear us down and make us fall hard but somehow, expectedly or unexpectedly, we manage to rise out of the rubble… isn’t it? Check out my latest post to know how I express this in the form of a poem! I would love to know what you think about it!
    Here’s the link:

    Hope you like the poem!

  2. Well it is Monday which means it is time for another installment of Monochrome Mondays, a weekly segment on my blog. In addition, I love a good mystery, and in my newest post I recount some of the theories about Amelia Earhart’s disappearance, 80 years on, coupled with a photo of mine and some songs about the subject. Let me know what you think!

  3. Hello blogmates,

I love meaningful abstracts and also create some(not necessarily meaningful). This virtual space is going to be filled with articles on random topics (mostly unrelatable or out of any living person’s concern) and in case I am feeling a bit too artistic, then you may be able to witness some poetry too(not necessarily bounded by the rhymes). Anyways don’t bind yourself with any expectations.

    1. I just noticed I used the wrong ‘its’ and I am ashamed of myself. Please accept my most sincere apologies for imposing this garbage upon you. I’m better than this.

    1. I tried to comment but got some weird error thing. Anyhow, I enjoyed your in-depth facts and awesome pictures. Living on the east coast of the US, I have a Castle near me called Castle Island. It’s not nearly as cool as Castle Dover. Though Massachusetts isn’t known for it’s castles, still pretty cool nonetheless. I like the travel portion of your blog and learning about what others like to see, keep up the good work!

    1. I really like the content and layout of your blog, and the there is a really nice variety in your posts. Lovely photography.
Feedback is slow on my blog too, but I am not pushing it in too many places yet as I feel it needs to be a little more established.

    2. I visited your blog and found that your content is very nice, very neat. There is no extra need content wise to make your blog stand out because it already is. Maybe, just maybe the reason your blog is not “popping” is that you don’t interact with other bloggers enough. You have got to visit other people’s blogs, read their stuff, view their photos and give a decent feedback. If you read other people, they’ll read you too.

      1. Thank you for the kind and supportive comments you left on my blog and here on the community pool 🙂 I’m so very, very glad they “popped out” and caught your attention. *Hat tip*

    3. The content is really nice and so are the photos! I too notice that photo blogs are a little slow. But its good to keep engaging and checking out other people’s blog and putting yourself out there. At the same time just enjoying and loving what you do regardless of traffic or not and hopefully the right folks will gravitate towards our work.

  4. Hi, I’m Nicole, a blogger from the Philippines! Anyway, last week I was able to write how I spent my birthday this year as well as a hotel review of Novotel Citygate, HK – one of the hotels my fam got to stay at during our last trip there.
This week hopefully I won’t feel too lazy and get to crunch out 2 (or at least 3!) more travel/food posts, so look forward to that!
Anyway, hope that you have a good day ahead. 😊

    1. Looks like a castle. Beautiful photos. Must be pretty big to have a church within the grounds. Thanks for sharing. Last paragraph, second sentence, I think you have a typo it says, “I would definitely recommend a hire care to explore…”

Were you trying to say we should “hire a car to explore?” Sounds like this is a remote place. http://www.brilliantviewpoint.com

  5. The sun is out, the schools have broken up for the holidays and I cannot stop eating cherries… This can only mean that summer is in full swing. It also means that shops and companies are releasing loads of new products. Many of which I will never buy (because some have a huge price tag) but a girl can dream! Here is my summer wish list:

This is the first time I have written a wish list, so any advice of comments would be greatly appreciated!
