Where bloggers come together to give each other feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

Hi
I like to write poems. I don’t find many people interested in poetries now a days. At least the ones within my reach. I would be glad if you take out your time and read them.
Here is one of those:

Just started a sort of snark blog where I rant about random stuffs. Think the content’s OK but I’ve only had one view in the week since I started (that isn’t from me). No Google hits, no Twitter followers, nothing. Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong? https://mortalfollyblog.wordpress.com/

I read About pages because I like to know what the purpose of the blog is before I invest time reading through the posts. I read your latest post. One thing I noticed is that you don’t appear to have Tags on the post. When people to an internet search by keyword, there’s no way for them to find your post if you don’t have some Tags on it. https://gracelead.co
LikeLiked by 1 person
That’s weird, there’s definitely a Minecraft tag there. You sure it’s not just the theme that’s making it hard to read?
LikeLiked by 1 person
It could be. Some settings don’t display the tags. Perhaps that’s what is happening. If minecraft is the only tag, you might want to add “video games” as a tag.

Snarky rants? Yes, please!
Now, there’s so magic formula for upping blog stats, you just gotta network and utilize tools and be patient.
Another suggestion is to add pictures to your posts. It draws the eye and doesn’t make the posts seem as block-y.
Happy Blogging!
P.S. I always read About pages! I think they’re very important!

Took your advice with the “about” page, and am in the process of adding copyright-free images to my older posts to space things out a bit. Thanks! ^_^

Your blog has some interesting work.
Don’t you fear, Ayesha, poetry is far from dead. The internet is a huge place. We’ll all find our cosy little corners to fit in. Meanwhile, hang in there! My passion for poetry is tough to extinguish. We’ll make it through together!
Love,
Flaw.

Hey guys, first time at the Community Pool. Hi!
I’ve been blogging 7 years in August and want to organise things a bit better. How can I best highlight new content, while still making the archives easily searchable? Related, if I set up a sitemap would people actually read a Start Here page? Any tips for ease-of-use/reader experience would be really appreciated.
This is my homepage at the moment:

I love blogs that cover a variety of topics. I consider those true lifestyle blogs. If I were to change anything it would be adding a landing page and then on the main blog page you can use that plug-in that showcases a featured blog post.

I don’t drink coffee. It’s herbal tea for me, please :-). I enjoyed your post. It is so fun to hear what children think. I can relate to #7 on your list. I used to think as long as I covered up completely, I was safe. Getting into bed after turning off the light was scary. I ran as fast as I could and jumped from as far away as I could. I can’t remember how old I was when I stopped doing that. https://gracelead.co

Ooo herbal tea is good too!! I don’t drink nearly enough as I should. Tea is so good for us! Yeah, number 7 always used to scare the crap out of me. I don’t jump into my bed like a kangaroo anymore, but I run like a cheetah in the dark. Lol. I admit, the darkness creeps me out. Especially the outside darkness. Thanks for reading! I will certainly check out your blog 🙂

Hi all: Check out my latest Manhood Monday post: Inspire Loyalty. (2 min read).
https://jprobinson.org/2017/07/31/manhood-monday-inspire-loyalty/
Excerpt:
Loyalty. It’s what drives soldiers to the front lines, keeps couples together for fifty years, and allows businesses to thrive for generation after generation. It’s a critical aspect of every society and it’s an essential part of every good man’s life. As daunting as inspiring loyalty may seem, I’d argue that there’s really only one thing you need to do. Ready for it?
