Where bloggers come together to give each other feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

We all at some point of our lives, have gone through difficult times but have survived all those times even if they seemed to be the toughest stages of our existence. We all have that warrior and survivor in us. Don’t we?
I just recently wrote a poem about how I feel when I go through stages like these. I hope you’ll be able to relate to it!

I appreciate the idea behind your blog of spreading positivity and inspiration. Very good start so far! However I did notice that there is some grammatical errors in your post. For example using words like ur or u makes the post seem like its an informal text message. Other than that, good blog idea!

I have been taking the summer off from my usual music/photography posts, but I had to get this one out last week- Presenting: Toli Nameless. Singer, composer, Trombone player, percussionist, dancer, teacher, activist. She is also a friend, and last week saw the re-release of some classic and timeless music with shades of Nina Simone and Fela Kuti. I am curious how featuring an artist like this came out. And Monday means it is also time for my weekly Monochrome Mondays photo of the week. All feedback appreciated!

Hi everybody! Question regarding Image Attribution. From what I’ve observed it seems to be a free-for-all when it comes to using images and that crediting the artist/photographer isn’t always a priority. I’ve been trying to use mostly my own images to avoid the sketchy feeling using uncredited images leaves me with. Anyone wanna share their best practices/experiences with this? Much appreciated. All the best to bloggers new and old!
LikeLiked by 4 people
Can you add a link to your own blog so we can see it? Attribution is important, but you are right, it can be a free for all. I only use my own photographs (but I have used some stock images on a handful of occasions) In those cases I will always do my best to credit the source. Which I think is what you should always do, but if there is none of any sorts, I think it is okay to use it. You could always attribute it to ‘Unknown’ which at least indicates that you attempted to find a source, rather than just inserting into your post.

No need to apologize, we all learn gradually. Just keep reading and following other blogs. That is the best way to get ideas, figure stuff out, and get new followers too. Your own photos are great. I think you can definitely feature them more.

Hello everybody!
I have recently started writing book reviews. So I have few doubts regarding book review
1) should the blurb be compulsory included in the review
2) What is the minimum word count for book review
Here’s a book review I had written :
Would love to hear everybody’s thoughts.
LikeLiked by 3 people
Great review! The length seems good, I have a tendency to write rather long book reviews but I think it’s quite a subjective thing. I do think it helps to have a summary in the review, as it gives readers who know nothing about the book something to refer to. I have heard that it is better to write your own summary (as I think you have?) rather than copying and pasting from Amazon, as search engines rank posts lower when they duplicate big chunks of content found elsewhere online. All in all I think you’re doing well!

Yes, I have written my own summary. Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts😊

What happens to you when you see something you can’t find the words to describe? Do you have that moment when you just KNOW something, but equally know you can’t explain it with the accuracy you wish you could? I make the case for those moments in this post–but I’m curious what you think. http://angelanoelauthor.com/inspiration-motivation/be-awesome-in-real-life/the-failure-of-words-is-the-beginning-of-truth/

I love meaningful abstracts and also create some(not necessarily meaningful). This virtual space is going to be filled with articles on random topics (mostly unrelatable or out of any living person’s concern) and in case I am feeling a bit too artistic, then you may be able to witness some poetry too(not necessarily bounded by the rhymes). Anyways don’t bind yourself with any expectations.

Otherwise the overall content and layout is great !

Great review and sharing of the story. Did you see the movie? http://www.brilliantviewpoint.com

I must admit, no. I stopped watching movies not too far back. I did see momento and the prestige later I found out they were both Christopher Nolan films so that tells you about my taste…I want to think and I want see perspectives and status quo of our perception of reality. The previews I saw and many articles I saw made me want to see it though…what is your take?
LikeLiked by 1 person
I agree, I don’t go to the movies much, but when there is something like this to do with history and from seeing the movie clips it looks like it would be good – I want to see it. Although, as we know, sometimes the movies do not do history justice. For example, George Clooney’s “The Monuments Men,” was extremely disappointing!! So.. it is hit or miss. Still, I would like to see this movie. We can do a review once we’ve seen it. GREAT POST you had. Thanks for sharing.
