Where bloggers come together to give each other feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

I enjoyed the thoughts in the poem. The rhyme forcing words didn’t work well for me. For example, “And her mind got blew” seems to mean “And her mind got blown” and “Nor could she flew” seems to mean “Nor could she fly.” https://gracelead.co

Yes you r right !Just to make the rhyme scheme some of the tenses got jumbled up.

I like the color scheme. I don’t think you need to change much, but for the title; you could split up the word so that the “y” isn’t standing alone.

I write a tennis blog and for the last two weeks, I’ve covered Wimbledon. It’s lighthearted and not too technical so even if tennis is not your thing, my hope is that you can still enjoy it. Here are the posts I wrote for the men’s and women’s finals.

They were great posts. I am sure there are other instances where others have cried on the field. You could have mentioned that too as well.
Love the cat header photo with the tennis ball 🙂

This was absolutely lovely to read. So heartfelt and touching. I have two stories to share after reading this. One is an older couple growing up when I was young bequeathed me with a number of old books. We’re talking hard cover editions of Mark Twain, Charles Dickens, and others. I only have the most passing memory of them now. We’re talking probably 1972 or so and I would have only been 4 at that time, but I think about them occasionally and the gift they gave me. The second thought is that big portions of your story remind me of a beautiful song by Ralph McTell called Mr. Connaughton, who was a real person in Ralph’s life when he was young and had the same sort of connection. Try to find it if you can!

Thank you for sharing that beautiful memory, and for checking out the post. I’m going to find that song a mind give it a listen!

You’re welcome. The beautiful thing about it is that it actually had a sort of happy ending. He performed the song for a few years, always telling the story of how this gentle man stuck in his memory, especially after Ralph’s own father had walked out on his family at an early age. So who should come up to him after a show one time but the man’s daughter, who is mentioned in the song. Just great stuff!

Your post about the sea brought back memories for me. Like you, I can’t handle sun bathing at the beach. My experience was in December walking along the Oregon coastline. It was overcast and around 40 degrees with the mist from the ocean blowing in my face. I still remember the beckoning sound of the waves and the blend of smells from the wet sand and water. https://gracelead.co
