Community Pool

Where bloggers come together to give each other feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

    1. It was fascinating to see how McDonald’s customized a set of items for the occasion. Your review seemed fair and balanced. You provided enough detail for us to make an informed choice if we get the opportunity to order any of these items. https://gracelead.co

    1. Good article. It’s one that makes us think about ‘what if’. It’s a difficult question to answer as well because of the variables that are out of our control.
My personal view is that we need a road to ensuring (and maybe forcing) that they take accountability/responsibility for their own actions while still embracing them with our love. Loving your child does not mean coddling them.

  2. Hello everyone!
    Here is my latest post:

    This Place..

It’s actually about something which I wanted to let out for a long while. A kind of feeling which I cannot describe in a way better than this. It came naturally. Had to share it with you all here.
    Hope you like it.
    Thanks!

    1. I like the idea of the photo walk. I’m sure it’s fun to compare photos afterward. Your boat photos appealed to me, not because I like boats, but because of the contrast of the vertical and horizontal lines, the colors, and how the look varied from photo to photo. BTW, did your friend get a photo of you in action? I’m curious if you look the part of photographer as much as he does 🙂 https://gracelead.co

      1. Thanks for your feedback. It’s very much appreciated.
In answer to your question: No, I don’t think I looked the part. I was simply in jeans , t-shirt and a ratty old red fleece sweater. And a bit fatter than my friend too. 🙂

      1. Thank you Jinal! I will certainly check out your blog. The name of my blog is based off a tattoo that I have–which is a blue poinsettia. So, I just thought of Blue Settia! Lol.

      1. I love diy, thanks for sharing your link. Are the images on the main page supposed to have links? I couldn’t go to the egg one from the home page, I had to find the link on your comment down below :).

      2. Yeah, I got kind of confused, especially since the monster book did have a link, but the other ones didn’t. Probably get better traffic to individual pages too 🙂 Thanks for sharing them! !

    1. Oh my gosh! What a heartwarming and charming post/memory! I enjoyed your “story-style” telling because it made it personal, but it was personal in a way that made me feel as if I was visiting my childhood home. I was so afraid either no one would be home or some cranky person would open the door. How lovely you were able to get the pictures and the tour! Thank you for sharing. Cheers! ☺️💫

    1. Hi!! 😃 I always enjoy whatever writing you’re sharing. I just think you’ve got an awesome writing skill and style; so whether it’s fiction or reviews, I love checking it out! Also, thanks again for suggesting the daily prompts! It worked out yesterday but didn’t really today. I’ll still keep my eye open for it though. Cheers! 💫

      1. Thanks so much. It’s really nice to have a consistent reader and commenter who isn’t my Mum 🤣

Yea I saw you used the prompt, only it was the American spelling and I know you’re all about the British English 😄

      2. Yay for being a consistent commenter/liker/reader who isn’t Mum OR a family member! 😅 I do know that feeling…!

Also, I’m glad you noticed. It’s rather entertaining: as an American, you’d think I would be twitching upon seeing the British English spellings. Nope, it’s the other way around: I start looking at the spellings I have seen my entire life and think “that can’t be right, is it?” 🤣🤣

    1. Hi! Oooh, what a lovely post you’ve most recently shared! Your writing style is charming and open to your readers, but more than that it works so well with the pictures you have included. Those pictures? Simply breathtaking! Thanks so much for sharing! 💫

    1. Hello!! 😃 Um, you have a fantastic voice! All while reading, I felt as if we were having a face-to-face conversation. Your personality and passion seriously come through your writings and that’s a fantastic gift to have! Also, I was drawn in because I danced as a little girl. I did the sort of stereotypical tap, ballet, and jazz. I was downright AWFUL at tap because my left foot was pretty incapable of producing the same sounds like my other foot. I don’t even try to comprehend it. I adored ballet and jazz. I love music with a beat. Even though I only danced in classes for roughly a decade, I still dance to my own beat and who knows how good/bad it is? I have a blast and that’s what matters! I think that’s why I enjoyed “Of Dancing” so well: it reminded me of my own experiences as well as allowed me to have a better understanding of where you were coming from. 🙂 Keep dancing, thanks for sharing, and happy blogging!! 💫

      1. Thank you so much!😄 It’s important just to enjoy dance, even if your shoes don’t click when they’re supposed to! I read somewhere that they dubbed the clicking sound in the old-timey movies, so maybe it doesn’t matter! Just keep dancing!😎

    1. Hey! Read your post. I just watched half of the 1st episode of the 1st season today (Now don’t start on how much behind the schedule I am) because GoT was literally splashed across the internet, what with the release of season 7 and all. I wanted to ask- I’m a teen,is GoT fine for me or should I wait for a few years?

      Liked by 2 people

      1. Hey 🙂 In regards to your question, it depends what end of the teen spectrum you’re on. Early teens or late teens? I’m pretty sure GoT is an 18+, but I personally would permit 16+. If you’re younger than that then you should probably wait, maintain your innocence for a few more years 🙂
