Where bloggers come together to give each other feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.
Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

Hey, there! Fairly new blogger here looking to connect with other curious (and/or potentially Christian) bloggers. On that note, here is my most recent (kind of pithy) post about understanding:

Perhaps you should change the way you write about yourself – looking at your ‘About’ page tells the reader little about you. You don’t have to be ‘anonymous’ and as you say, everybody’s a ‘thinker’. What’s special about you? What’s so different between you and other ‘thinkers’ out there blogging ‘anonymously’?
As soon as you answer that question, you can get a better idea of who you are as a blogger, where this blog will be going, what kind of audience you want to get, and why people will connect with you, even if they’re completely different from who you are. You’d be surprised.

Hi.. Thanls for your comment.. I would like to say something.
About page- i dont want to tell much about myself i want to be anonymous thats why the tag line anonymous views and thoughts. may be it will change in future..
And i would love it if you also read the posts.
I as a writer or blogger am not blocking myself to one thing for example not just writing about philosophy. At present my ideas are to write whatever i like.

Hey guys. This post is about changing the thought process from the typical “American dream”. My upcoming post will be adding on that, but more focus on our obsession with material things. Also feel free to check out the rest of my blog and let me hear your feedback, it’s all greatly appreciated 🙂

Hey there, I’m late as usual, but that’s for people considering going self-hosted: http://www.siyanaonline.com/my-experience-after-moving-self-hosted/ hope you find that interesting x

Huh. I’ve been thinking about self-hosting my blog for a while now. Probably along with a YouTube or Vimeo channel. Expanding the brand, as it were. Nice, insightful post, all around. As for your bit about choosing a name: gamers who want to get into streaming/let’s plays know all too well, and that’s just if they want to change their gamer tags.

Thank you! The biggest tip I could give you – show other bloggers that you are out there! Visit other blogs, leave likes and comments, even follow if you wish, and it’s very likely that they would return the favour! The blogging community is very supportive and you will find so many new friends! I’ll do a post on that soon x

First, excellent post. That kind of thing can be quite rote, but you came through, which made it original and lovely to read.
Second, I like that you vary your font to draw attention to certain parts. Great idea! That said, perhaps make it just slightly smaller or the same color as the rest of the text? I found myself jumping to it and missing other things… Definitely don’t scrap the idea, though, it’s very good!

Thank you. I meant feedback as in, I want to hear other peoples Life Lessons. Hahahaa. Oops, guess I wasn’t clear. Thank you though. I love spicing my posts up with color, but you made a good point- maybe I should limit the color.

Hi all! I’m hoping to get some feedback on my title pics. Recently I’ve tried making banners with the post titles superimposed over my photos. Is it good? Does it distract? Any thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated! (And any feedback on my blog generally is, of course, also welcome!)
Here’s my blog: https://pastriespicspolitics.wordpress.com (you can see an assortment of the banners on the home page since they head up most of my posts now.)
Or if it’s easier, here’s a recent post with a banner: https://pastriespicspolitics.wordpress.com/2017/07/01/wallpaper-wpc/
Thanks!

I liked how that looked – I was viewing on a phone btw. The only part I didn’t particularly care for was the coconut macaroons cookie “aside” – I was a little confused scrolling through as to why it was different than all the other items. However, I think it did its job as being an aside vs a full post.

Hello all!! 😃 I have a question: how does one consistently get readers? I have read several good posts on here from community members, as well as sharing on social media. But I’ve found that I’ll have days with higher views and then a couple days where it’s a noticeable drop. Of course I know that not everyone reads at the same time and even don’t read daily. Is it simply a matter of patience? Tips? Maybe everyone isn’t reading because of the holiday and that’s it. Thanks so much!!

This isn’t going to be the most insightful comment, sorry. But I find that posting frequently is the best driver of traffic. Participating in the wordpress community–posting here but also finding bloggers you like and engaging with them–also helps.
