Community Pool

Where bloggers come together to give each other feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

    1. Firstable thanks for the advise on my previous comment, I just did what you recomended me.

Good advises on your post, I actually started blogging to combat stress. I discover that writing about what I like is very relaxing, plus its a break from work while I drink my coffe or tea. Kudos to you.

  1. I’m taking a bit of a break from my usual Music/Photography posts, but I recently tweaked and reworked one of my favorite older posts, all about an a cappella soul group from the UK called The Mint Juleps. They were incredibly talented and deserve to be known more-https://robpatdoy.wordpress.com/2014/09/09/the-soundtrack-of-a-photograph-part-12/

Also, since it is Monday, here is my weekly photo for my Monochrome Mondays series-

    1. Yes, your blog is good. At first, you won’t have a lot of views, but don’t worry about it. They grow with time. I suggest you should use as many tags as possible, because they attract more readers! Oh, and photos. Loads of them! Good luck with your blog! 🙂

    2. I agree with Oceauxnic. Tag, tag, and then tag again. Broad tags, like #sports, then more narrow tags like #dortmund. Also, post as regularly as you can. Follow other sports/soccer writers on WordPress. Don’t give up.

    3. Hi Verdid! Just checked out your blog. It looks good! If there is any constructive feedback to make, I’d perhaps change the widget on your side bar to include more information. Other than that it’s great. If your blog is new, I suggest you also post on First Friday. You might get more helpful tips from veteran bloggers.

    1. Hi Soph, great post! I enjoy a good Top 10 recommendation list, though I don’t think I’ll ever have the patience to read all of The Lord of the Rings.
In terms of advice, I notice you don’t have a standard blue WordPress follow button on your blog? You may want to think about adding one – they’re quite handy for getting fellow WP bloggers to follow you easily, in addition to having an email sign-up (like you have). Otherwise, it’s looking good!

    1. Hey Maitri,

I really loved your post about self love and self acceptance. You express and put it across beautifully.

I wanted to leave you a comment on the post itself but I don’t see an option to comment below your posts. I would suggest you enable it, would help you connect better with people who resonate with your thoughts.
Keep spreading the positivity. Much love ♥️

  3. With each post on my positivity blog, I include a personal story and a positive life lesson (hopefully). 🙂 I would love feedback on the success of my inclusion of both in my posts and the conciseness of my writing. Any other feedback is of course welcome. I enjoy checking out the work of others and will definitely be glad to check out your site as well. Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

Just one thing, if you always have posts with a lot of pictures..you can try using a theme that makes your blog more appealing from the gallery perspective. There are numerous free themes that help exploit the beauty of pictures to a good amount.
