Community Pool

Where bloggers come together to give each other feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

    1. I was absolutely heartbroken when I saw the news this morning, terrorism has no religion, hate has no religion and once again innocent lives were taken because of a cruel, mindless act or terror. Hate feeds hate and this was a tragic example of that. Beautifully written and so so true💞

    2. Thank you for sharing your point of view and taking the time to educate us, it is truly appreciated. The hate in this world that has caused so much violence and stereotyping of Muslims must end. I’m sorry for the pain your community feels during these times. ❤

    3. I appreciate this post from your POV. People neglect to realize that acts of terrorism occur towards all races and religions. Hate and evil have no reservations regarding within where and whom they dwell. And someone taking the lives of innocent individuals is nothing short of evil. And stereotyping someone based on their skin color or religion, is nothing short of hatred. Great post. ❤️

    1. You’re capturing your adventure in a beautiful way. I recently returned from a trip to Arizona, and quite a few national park visits. I live in NC, so there aren’t many near me. Your posts make me want to head back out west!

      1. No problem! If you’d like to, I would
love if you’d read mine too! I’d love some feedback- maybe even a new wordpress friend to follow and be followed by too!

      1. I have a Kindle and a Kobo and I use them interchangeably. There’s that tactile thing about holding a real book in your hands and printed words on the page, but it’s outweighed — pardon the pun — by the compactness of an e-reader.
I think we have a ton of print books in the house, in nine different bookcases, books that need to be picked up and put away, bookcases that need to be dusted. To me e-reader’s are looking better all the time. 🙂

    1. I often use them interchangeably. I have multiple books in hard copy and in Ebook format and I go back and forth between the app on my phone and the hard copy book as I read. It’s easier to read on my phone when I’m stuck cuddling a teething toddler, but I prefer black and white pages when I’m toddler free. Options are wonderful!

      1. For sure! I don’t get when people feel a need to “choose a side”. I’m usually reading one print book and a different title on Kindle at any given time. I respect your ability to read the same book in two different formats. That’s some next level reading across platforms. 🙂

    1. The writing quality is very good. Well-written and easy to follow. The Do’s and Don’ts are great reminders for parents that their children can be so easily impacted by what their parents do or say.

  2. Hi guys! How are y’all doing? I’d really like some feedback on my last post, which is a fiction that I’ve tried my hand on for the first time.

    Here’s the link: https://musingsofmissoverthinker.wordpress.com/2017/06/12/missed-opportunity-part-1/#more-556

I also write other prose and poetry pieces too. One piece that I worked quite a bit on is: https://musingsofmissoverthinker.wordpress.com/2017/04/28/survive/#more-293

I’d really appreciate it if you could take a moment to go through it and give me some feedback. I’d prefer comments on the posts, but I’m more than happy to hear from you guys here as well 🙂

Thank you in advance 🙂 Have a great week ahead.

P.S: Part 2 of “Missed Opportunity”, my fiction piece will be going on the blog sometime in the next few days, maybe even today (doubtful).
