Community Pool

Where bloggers come together to give each other feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

  1. Hello everyone. I’m quite new and I recently received a comment for my post, Feminism is a Lie which was diametrically opposed to what I had written and so in response I wrote another post called Feminism is a Lie : part 2 (surprisingly. ..) If anyone has time to take a look please do, although I suspect a lot of you will probably agree with the (mean) commenter so if you are inspired to be mean to me about my post, let’s at least not be insulting! Thanks in advance. All the best to all. I love this place

  2. Hey everyone!

Summer has arrived so it is time to brighten up your makeup look. Rather than trying to achieve a perfect matt winter look, summer is all about creating a natural healthy glow. Hopefully this blog post will help you. I would really appreciate any blogging advice as well as beauty advice. I am by no means a beautician or even a beauty blogger. I do not know anything about beauty other than what I have experimented with in my bathroom. https://sojerden.wordpress.com/2017/06/12/summer-makeup-natural-glow/

    1. Hey! Your blog looks great, but I think what you’re missing is a clear definition of what you’re trying to do. It seems your posts are all poems, if that is your key focus, include it somewhere on your page so the reader knows. This will create an anticipation and excitement from the reader on what to expect. Having a clear cut definition will help you with motivation as well. When we are open to a world of possibilities our brain becomes overwhelmed and we cannot focus.
The about section is a good place to include your purpose for creating a blog, and what you wish to achieve with it. Check out other developed blog pages that are similar to what you have in mind. This will help you design your purpose and mission ‘statements.’

  4. Hi everyone. I have a blog about my personal journey on learning to switch from a money spender to a money saver. This is one of my posts that sort of mixes minimalism and money saving together. My blog is written in chronological order but readers see it backwards with the latest post first, so I’m wondering if that’s confusing to people who read it?

  6. Hello everyone.
I wrote this poem to share with women out there who have been victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence. Being a victim myself, it inspired me to write this poem called ” A woman’s torment” hopefully it inspires women out there. Thank you.

  7. Hello everyone,
I am newish to this blogging thing and have just got some creative writing posts (less than 10), but I intend to post a new article up every week or two from now on. Currently I have only asked my friends and family to take a look at my blog, but it would help if I could get a wider readership. Also people I know comment what they think directly to me, but if I could get some of you to comment on the blog itself/some posts that would be very helpful.
I am requesting any feedback at all, all is useful, but please be constructive if you want to criticise anything.

    Happy blogging everyone,

    Cheers

  8. Hi – all I began my blog https://acuriousnarrative.blog a few weeks ago now. I previously had a blog that covered a multitude of subjects but became disillusioned with it. In this new attempt I am trying to concentrate on stories of various kinds. Any thoughts or comments on my new blog would be welcome. Are blogs better being very specific or with a broader appeal?

There’s nothing as important as a father. As we approach Father’s Day weekend, I wanted to identify six traits that the best father’s show on a daily basis. This is what I saw expressed in my dad’s life and what I try to show my children. Hopefully it’ll inspire other men to raise the standard of fatherhood across our world.
