If you’re not new and are looking for support or feedback, the Community Pool is the place for you!

For technical questions, visit the WordPress.com Support Forums.

To learn more about blogging, take a Blogging U. course.

To find, copy, and paste your link:
Head to your blog’s home page — not your dashboard, your blog itself. Click on the title of your post to open the individual post.

Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.

Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to his or her very first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your first post with us, copy and paste the link right into a comment here. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment.

Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers.

We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:

  • We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
  • When commenting, the third time is not the charm: don’t share the same link repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Link directly to your new post, rather than to your blog generally — it makes it that much easier for folks to like the post or leave you comments.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
  • To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

  1. Here’s a blog I’m doing on learning. It’s more philosophical tacos anything right now. While I’ve had that account for a while, I recently restarted the blog under this topic. https://possibilityparadigm.wordpress.com/2017/06/07/a-paradigm/ Also, here is the blog I posted last week. I commented on that Monday so it was lost under a thousand comments. It’s barely under a month https://lambamongwolf.wordpress.com/2017/05/10/scriptures-on-love/

    1. Hey, I went through a few posts and you’re writing & photo layout are great, but your page is a bit naked and your text widget just has the default text explaining what a text widget is.

Here is my first post https://scrapsofmymindblog.wordpress.com/2017/05/26/first-blog-post/ that I did last week. I just published a new blog post right now as well which is a letter to the man I once married. Check it all out and let me know what you think from good to bad! Thank so much for your time and look forward to getting to know you all!

      1. Do you know how to add a like button? I just started today, and I don’t quite know all the ins and outs yet.

      2. Yup. On your dashboard, you go to ‘sharing’ then ‘sharing buttons’. There you’ll see options to add things like ‘sharing on fb’ and the ‘reblog’ and ‘like’ buttons.

  4. hello everyone. i’ve been off the radar for a bit and coming back swinging with more “stream of conscious” type of writing that I believe I’m improving at.

feel free to check out my older post but the latest two posts are the ones I’m the most curious to hear back about.

    1. Hi @fastidiouslyme,

First Fridays are for brand-new bloggers sharing their first post, published within the last month. As a blogger with considerably more experience under your belt, you’re ready for the Community Pool, a forum where you can post a link to your site or a post and to ask for feedback. Thanks for understanding!

    1. You should mention along with your link that your blog will be anecdotes about bad mornings people have had and that you’d like readers to send you their stories.

Your About page is almost identical to your Home page and neither of these say who you are, where you live, or exactly what you intend to do with the stories that are sent to you. What’s your target readership? I suppose you’re wanting to post these experiences on your blog, but I think you’d better clarify some of this on your About page if you want responses.

    2. I really like the idea, it’s unique and fun. As far as mornings go, nothing beats waking up to a rat eating your soap or having slept for 18 hours after taking legally-prescribed sleeping pills, or falling asleep standing up on a long-distance bus and having the bus break down halfway through the trip. Life is weird.

    1. I love this!! I became the me I wanted to be about two years ago. You’ve only got one life, right? And I want mine to be the best story in the world. Can’t do that living someone else’s life💞

  7. Hello,
My blog just went live this morning 😊 Through it, I hope to educate people about how they can positively impact the planet through conscious consumerism. My first post is a close look at the apparel supply chain and points out some of the difficulties that it faces. Thank you for taking the time to check out my little corner of the internet! https://kintsugitheblog.wordpress.com/2017/06/09/firsthand-look-apparel-supply-chain/

    1. Really like the post. A nice length so it is easy to digest. Only thing I would say is the background colour is a little distracting. Maybe just personal preference but I found it a little hard to read (compared to black on white)
