Where bloggers come together to give each other feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

Thanks for asking for the feedback.
Your poem – I can totally relate to this – reminds me of a recent relationship I was in, so frustrating to put yourself out there, and the person gives little or nothing back.
I’d like to especially highlight your last line; “…Maybe you don’t care but fuel the spark before it finally dies down.”
Where are you wanting to go with this – Are you asking the lover to respond? To respond even if he doesn’t care?
Also, is this the end that you desired for this reflection? This makes me want to know what you do next, rather than hear your request for some reaction – indeed, ANY reaction – at all from him. Why do you remain here? What will you do if he continues as he is?
Anyway, congratulations for putting this out there. I’ll be interested to see your further posts.
Cheers,
Michele

I took a look and I would suggest you change your back ground colour from blue to something a little easier on the eyes.
Take down the example of a page and write a new about page that introduces you to who ever goes onto your blog.
Positives are that I love your name (it’s absolute genius) and you’re content is also good. So I think that’s it – good luck blogging
LikeLiked by 1 person
I totally agree, the blue makes it hard to read, also your about page is still the example text. I like the idea behind your blog and the writing is really good!

Okay so I wrote a post that is all about how to master creativity and overcoming creative slumps. It’s the first part in a series and would like some feedback on if you think it’s an interesting enough topic.
Most importantly though, I would like any advice you guys can give me to gather readers because I’ve been vacant for a couple of weeks due to back pain and now I don’t have as many readers as I use to have. Any advice would be useful.

I think it’s a great idea for a series! I’m a naturally creative person, and when learning new skills and techniques I definitely go through those 4 steps, though I’d never really mapped it out before.
Some tips on growing your readership: read, like, follow and comment on others blogs. Post all over social media. And keep writing. You’ll get there if you’re diligent and dedicated.

As someone who goes through slumps more often than I’d like, I’m looking forward to your upcoming posts.
As for how to getting new readers, I guess the only answer is to network. Hit up your Reader and go through some new tags and find new blogs to interact with.
Good luck!

Has anyone noticed that they are getting fewer ‘likes’ on their posts than they used to? I’ve been blogging for six years, and I use categories and tags appropriately to help people find my posts. But recently I’ve observed less engagement with my posts through likes and comments.
On another note, this year I’m doing a blog series where I discuss the books I’ve read each month. If there are other book bloggers reading this, what do you think about posting literary-themed series on your blogs? Any feedback would be most appreciated. 🙂
