Where bloggers come together to give each other feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

Just commented! Nice content, nice photo. My suggestion: watch your tags. In total, you can use 15 tags and categories — right now you have 16 (because “uncategorized” counts as a category, plus you 15 tags). This means that WordPress will block your post from Reader, and it will be harder for new readers to find you 😦 Consider removing a tag — maybe “coffee cup”?
Would you check out one of my posts? Click on my name and chose whichever one appeals to you most 🙂

Hello! I like the story you tell about the growth surgery. It was interesting and had personality. I think you could enhance the writing if the story was a bit more concise. Also you may want to consider cutting down on the use of contractions (didn’t, won’t, etc), but that’s just a personal preference. Hope this was helpful!

Hello all!
Today I posted about political statements in Jane the Virgin and TV shows in general. I think there’s definitely a right and a wrong way to make these kind of statements in TV.
On Thursday, I will have a post up, and maybe once life settles down a bit I’ll be able to plan ahead more and actually tell you all the topic ahead of time!

Really good read, the quote from the bible was motivating. However I noticed you are using a lot of tags and categories, considering WordPress actually filters out posts having 15 or more number of tags and categories combined. Consider using the most relevant tags and reducing the number. And as always keep writing. Cheers! 🙂

Hey everyone! I was wondering if someone could tell me how to add blog posts to pages. Thanks! My blog is dystopianjasmine.wordpress.com
LikeLiked by 3 people
For mine I go into the CMS (the wordpress dashboard) and edit the page.
Then just add links to the page to the blog posts that I’d like to include. Does that make sense?
I am not sure if I explained it very well, so I’ll leave a link to a page so you can see what I mean: https://www.awalkandalark.com/north-downs-way/ Each post is linked to that page…so I have to go back and edit the page each time I’d like to add a new section of the walk.

Not sure if I have an answer for you – are you thinking about creating a page of all the posts of a particular category, or just include one or two particular posts along with other content on a page?
LikeLike
Hello,
It sounds like you want to group together several posts on different pages — besides the stream of all your posts on your blog’s homepage. You have a couple of ways of going about this:
1. Category pages: these bring all your posts that share the same category into one single page. You can learn how to create these here: https://wordpress.com/support/posts/categories/
2. For more granular control of the posts you show on a page, you can use the Display Posts Shortcode. It might look a little complicated at first, but really is straightforward once you get the hang of it — you can learn about this shortcode here: https://wordpress.com/support/display-posts-shortcode/
Good luck with your site!

Just commented! Nice content, good use of tags, nice picture. My suggestion: consider using categories. Tags help new readers find your blog, and categories organize your posts within your blog. You can use up to 15 categories and tags total, and the bonus of using categories is that readers who want to see more of the same type of post can easily find them with categories.
