Community Pool

Where bloggers come together to give each other feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

    1. The community pool is a networking resource for bloggers to get feedback on their work, give feedback on others work, and ask questions. I have found the blogging community to be one of the friendliest, most helpful groups of people. You can also just meet other bloggers from your niche or a completely different one. We are all in this together to help support and build each other’s talent up. The pool is a wonderful tool to do that.

  1. Dear Bloggers, I am about to start, it’s defintely time to. I am making use of all WordPress amazing resources, and for this in particular, I was wondering whether there would be an analogue community in different languages as well, like Italian for instance. In any case, I’ll be back here, may be without anything to submit, but for sure with a lot to read for myself.

    Ciao, thank you

      1. Thanks, unfortunately, I can’t take credit for the word, but I felt that it suited me since I had been going on about being an entrepreneur since I was a kid but didn’t have the courage to take the leap… until now. 🙂

  3. Hi fellow bloggers,

I’m trying to improve my storytelling and blogging style to write short and sweet. My blog is mostly about career development and the fears I faced, so I’m looking for some feedback on my latest post. I did try to post this earlier but it disappeared. Hopefully this isn’t a double posting as that’s not my intention.

    Thanks in advance,

    1. love this list. I think that autumn is a great time for journaling too because I find autumn and winter to both be big transitional seasons (unlike the spring to summer transition) so it’s a good time to reflect…

    1. I enjoyed your post. Some of your predictions did come true 🙂 I wondered how supergirl beat superman. Thanks for sharing the details behind that. If the writers know what we want as fans, they will find a way to bring Mon-el back to Kara. https://gracelead.co

      1. I loved your first post! I have suffered from depression in the past and people have such a hard time understanding depression and anxiety. I’m so glad you seem to have figured out what you need to do to help yourself out. That’s SO important! Keep tweaking around with the settings and customization. That seems to be the hardest part for me. You can check mine out here! http://thisbeautifuldisasterlife.wordpress.com/. I’m also new to this and am trying to get everything figured out.

    1. Beautiful Disaster, you have a winsome smile 🙂 I enjoyed your post on toxic friendships. While the title seemed extreme, the points you made seemed sensible. Advice I give my friends about relationships is to ask yourself the question, “In this relationship, are we building up one another or dragging down one another?” https://gracelead.co

  4. Hi Everyone…I am a seriously technology challenged person trying my hand at this blogging thing. My site is still under construction and I could use some constructive feedback. Thanks!

  5. I enjoy reading all of the blogs and seeing new perspectives on views. Please feel free to swing by my site and let me know what you think of my writing. It is mostly about our journey with our youngest who has autism. 🙂
