Community Pool

The place where bloggers give each other feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

    1. You might want to check and see if your Theme is a “responsive” one—one that changes the display to accommodate any device.

    2. Oh my goodness your food photos look amazing! I started following you too, 🙂

The only thing I would say is your post is sooo long. It might have been good to spit it into a couple of different posts. Although it’s totally okay to ignore me as I often end up with super long posts too!!

      1. Thank you for your constructive feedback. Yes I’m also indecisive about the length of my posts but with this one, I thought it would be easier to have all the places in one post so if anyone ever searched then all the info would be in one place. It’s always a blogger struggle- keep the flow going in a longer post or break it up and make the Magic last longer haha!

    3. Everything looks so good, i love food so much so this is lovely. You might want to have shorter posts though, it’s a little too much for my silly mind to handle HAHAHA

  2. Hello blogging addicts,
Find attached the link to my third post on the concept of “Jihad.”
I hope you find it interesting to learn about the perspective of main stream Muslims regarding the issue, and how they understand it.

  3. HAPPY MONDAY!!!
I had one of those late-night panic attacks of creativity and stress and decided to completely redesign my blog. I’m actually quite happy with the results! It was a stressful week otherwise so I didn’t get to post as much as I would have liked but here it is!

My birthday is this coming week so I’ll hopefully have some adventures to write up soon!

    Have a great week all!

      1. It was so much fun! I actually keep small sets around for when I’m feeling super anxious and need to keep my mind busy. I haven’t done a “big” one like this in a while. I look forward to building more but they are so damn expensive! Now I understand why my mom hated me asking for them for birthdays and Christmas!

In particular, do you guys feel like you have easy access to my older writings. And any suggestions on how to allow access to older posts more easily would be great!

Also feel free to post your blog below, I’ll try to check it out!
